Jerry

Thank you for posting the June 4th Township Committee Meeting Agenda. (This meeting was re-scheduled from Tuesday June 3rd until Wednesday June 4th because of the June 3rd Primary Election.)

Just a few questions:

1. Why an " ORDINANCE REQUESTING THE ESSEX
COUNTY CLERK TO PRINT ON THE
NOVEMBER 4, 2003 GENERAL ELECTION
BALLOT OF THE VOTERS OF THE TOWNSHIP
OF MAPLEWOOD A REFERENDUM ON THE
QUESTION OF A STATE CONSTITUTIONAL
CONVENTION"

2. What is the essence of the ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND
SUPPLEMENT CHAPTER 271 OF THE CODE
OF THE TOWNSHIP OF MAPLEWOOD
ENTITLED “ZONING AND DEVELOPMENT
REGULATIONS” AND TO AMEND
ORDINANCE NUMBER 2220-03

3. What are the bid criteria for: MAPLEWOOD
COMMUNITY CENTER ROOF and PRINCETON STREET
DRAINAGE PROJECT?

4. If the pool is self sustaining, why
AWARDS OF CONTRACT –
POOL CHEMICALS - POOL CONCESSION

5. What is the MORRIS COUNTY COOPERATIVE PRICING
COUNCIL

1. Because in order to put a question on the ballot, the law says that a municipality must pass an ordinance in this way, requesting that the clerk do so.

2. These are the editorial changes to the cell ordinance, suggested by the planning board, that we discussed at the last meeting.

3. You can get a copy of bid specs for jobs like this from the clerk or engineer

4. Nothing to do with "self sustaining". You have to buy chemicals to run the pool, Ed; the money to pay for them comes from the pool budget. The pool concession is a revenue item; the concessionaire pays the pool to run the snack bar.

5. The Morris County Cooperative Pricing Council is an organization that does bulk purchasing for government agencies. We participate, and we buy things through it when they have the best prices. It's one of a number of such groups that we participate in.
