Everyone who cares about Memorial Park should try to attend a meeting to be held Tuesday, June 17th, at 630 pm at the Municipal Building (574 Valley Street). Among the people present will be Doug Ball (Township Engineer), Newt Meeker (Head, Shade Tree Department), and Jan Saltiel, landscape architect with the firm hired to plan and oversee the relandscaping of the part of Memorial Park damaged during Hurricane Floyd and the work done to reconstruct the river walls. Ms Saltiel will have a color rendering of her design for that area. Please come see the design, find out the timetable, and give your feedback.

Anyone with any questions about this or any other town matter is welcome to call me at 973.763.7793 or at town hall 973.762.8120.

David

Hurricane Floyd hit Maplewood in September 1999, which is almost 4 years ago. At the June 17, 2003 meeting I hope that someone will explain what has been done (and not done) since Hurricane Floyd hit. Also how reliable will be the timetable to be presented?

Quite honestly Ed, most of your "Threads" or comments (whatever you want to call them) are Turn-offs, especially for someone running for office

Thank you for your comment, although I do not agree. I think that the question I posted for David was legitimate and hope that David will respond to the question.

Ed: I think you have a right to ask, but David posted his phone numbers. Why don't you call him?

Anon, David and I do speak from time to time, but in this case I thought he might want to post an answer for the readers of MOL before the meeting.

Good ideas Ed, there are many of us that have other plans for tomorrow night, like myself and the Maplewood Rotary Club Annual Installation Dinner at Georgio's planned three months ago....

BTW, the purpose of the on-line questions Grw, is hopefully to save David from answering the same questions over and over again. David is very generous to offer his phone numbers, which is helpful for personal matters, however, general questions asked on-line can save everyone time.

If you knew any better, you would know that most candidates appreciate an opportunity to interact in a public forum as often as possible.

Everyone, (I guess except you and Anon) benefit when the public, candidates, and elected officials ask and answer questions publicly, especially when they're on-line.

I had to miss this Design for Maplewood Park meeting because Dr. Merino asked me to teach the TQM Class on "Voice of the Custmer" at Stevens Tech that night in Hoboken. Could someone fill me in on what happened at the meeting? Were there miutes taken? Consensus reached? Action Plans developed?
