Can someone give me the dept/persons I can call at the municipal building to discuss the unplowed roads and leafy streets that have plagued Midland Blvd this season?

Every year it's the same. Why does Maplewood even have a leaf removal schedule since they are never able to follow it. And I guess one pass with the plow down Midland is sufficient.

Private Citizen:

Be patient. A lot of snow has fallen and it will take some time to clear all of the streets properly.

If you want to follow up with the town, you should direct your phone call, letter or personal appearance to the Public Works Department which is located on Newark Way.

OK, but what about the poor job done with the leaves? We were supposed to have a pick-up this past week, but the trucks never came around.

It's the same story every year. Why can't this town stick to its own schedule?? And now you have 12 inches + of show on top of the leaves.

My tax dollars at work??!!

Where is Midland Avenue? I've only heard of Midland Blvd.

Public Works for Maplewood:

We have had three leaf collections, and the snow plows came around atleast four times yesterday, and once today. They have also sanded a few times. We are however, on Maplewood Avenue. Side streets generally do not get that kind of attention.

Well, I wouldn't call Midland Blvd a side street.
Have you ever travelled on it? It connects (almost) Boyden with Prospect.
It even has its own traffic circles. ;-)

Last year they gave it much more attention during the President's Day storm. This year the plows only made one pass on one side of the street, leaving almost a full car width of snow on the other side such that a two lane street has now become a one lane street!

Just for the record, the snow removal from the lastest storm was much better, and the leaves were removed subsequent to the snow meltation.

Thanks Maplewood Public Works.

Snow removal has been poor at best so far this year.
