Hi-

I'm a local resident that is planning to go back to Nursing school in 2005. I'm interested in doing occasional (1x a week pref. evenings) volunteer work in the area related to health/health care. Can anyone direct me to organizations or people that might have ideas or opportunities?

Call Town Hall and ask for the clerks office, they will send you a form to fill out. it will ask you what your interested in. They put it in there data base and when something is available they will contact you

If you have EMS training, I am certain that the First Aid Squad would be very interested in talking with you. They can always use more volunters.

Aimee:

Joan is correct, contact EMS, and I would also suggest directly contacting Kathy Levanthal, the newest Township Committee member. Kathy is a healthcare professional, but more importantly she started an outreach program in this area. If anyone can help you shortcut or network, she will. She should be familiar with a variety of volunteer programs you might be interested in.

I would go to Town Hall and talk to Liz Fritzen (Township Clerk), who has also been involved in first aid programs in the past. She may have some ideas or leads you can pursue.

Only as a formality would I suggest you fill out the form suggested by grw. You will get an immediate feel for opportunities from Kathy or Liz.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the ideas - especially Reflective's. I will make a couple of calls to Kathy and Liz and see what I can find out.

Best-
Amie
