"Cookie" Howard an employee at Town Hall passed away. I had dealings with her for may years as a Township employee, and she was always a very sweet and knowledgeable person. It is traditional for the bunting to be placed on the workplace of an active township employee for 30 days after their death. Here's the Obit: Lois Cookie Howard Saturday, January 31, 203 A Mass for Mrs. Lois Cookie Howard, 61, of Maplewood will be at 10 a.m. Monday in St. Josephs Church, 767 Prospect St., Maplewood. Mrs. Howard died Thursday in Saint Barnabas Medical Center, Livingston. She was employed with the Township of Maplewood since 1976, first as an assistant payroll clerk, later as deputy township clerk and currently payroll supervisor. Mrs. Howard lived in Maplewood for 28 years. Surviving are her husband, William; a son, Robert Maxton; a daughter, Dawn Bradley; her mother, Marie DiRoma; a brother, Joseph W. DiRoma; a sister, Teresa M. DeVito, and four grandchildren.
