Yea! Now we can go home too...

BTW, tonight's winner of the "Committee Person of the Week" is, by unanimous decision, Ian Grodman for his adept handling of the Virginia Street traffic ordinance vote.

Ian, skillfully, was able to postpone this vote until the Virgina Street residents received adequate notification. Congratulations to Ian as the first winner of this highly coveted award ...

I suggest appointing a blue ribbon commission to study the problem of bureaucratic procedures that cause inefficiency in our local government. Of course we'll need to devote a significant amount of time and resources to this commission to insure that their work is thorough. Regular progress reports should be offered (complete with PowerPoint presentations) and any internal debate of the commission should be opened to the general public for a vote. The time we invest on addressing efficiency will yield a much more efficient government in the long run.

Excellent idea Joe... only the study should be done on the state level and the results passed down to municipal government.

IMO, before anyone is allowed to run for public office they should be required to take a basic course to study the problem of bureaucratic procedures that cause inefficiency in our local government. A real estate and small business course would be a good idea too...

Great idea guys! But, why don't we table Joe's recommendation and bring it up for discussion at a future date.

Process? I'm sorry but did we agree upon a proces? Your concept of a process, might not be my concept of a process, and neither of our concepts of process may match ajc's. The possibilities are endless. Which is why it's essential that we study the process and develop a unified process. Otherwise all our hard work to bring greater efficiency to local, and now state, government will be in vain.
