George -

Contact Mary Devon O'Brien at (973)763-4135. She's the president of the Maplewood Civic Association (parent body of the CBAC).

Call her soon...there's a CBAC orientation/general meeting on the 8th of Jan.

I'll do it again. I even met with her one evening and make sure she had my telephone number.

But thanx, I'll do it again.

jgberekeley -

According to the info I've received, "there will be a general orientation and budget training session on Tuesday, January 8th at 7:30 at DeHart Community Center". This is the kick-off meeting for the 2002 budget review.

I've been the chair of the Public Works and Engineering subcommittee of the CBAC for the last couple of years, feel free to contact me if you have any questions (dinooliva@home.com).

The meeting scheduled for Thursday, January 31 has been cancelled. It will be rescheduled for early February. The Tuesday, January 29 meeting will still be held as planned.

Because of delays in the state's finalizing of state aid numbers, budget introduction will move from early February to a later, still-to-be-determined date.

Last night reference was made to a meeting on Tuesday, 2/5/02 @ 7:30 PM.

Is this the replacement meeting for the cancelled one?

If I have something to say at the meetings, can I talk?

No it is the regularly scheduled meeting of the TC.

If you have something to say, you're welcome to talk. There are two opportunities in the agenda (early and late in the meeting) to speak.

At this point there is no replacement meeting scheduled. We will be discussing the budget at the conclusion of regular TC business on Tuesday, February 5th and Tuesday, February 19th. Those are the normal meeting dates for the TC this month. The public is permitted to sit in on those budget discussions.

The decision on holding another special meeting to discuss the budget will be made after the 19th. We are not yet sure of our state aid numbers and believe that they will not be available to us until the end of this month at best. We hoped to have introduced a budget in February but that is not a realistic schedule any longer given what is going on in Trenton.
