Grassroots Action Supporting Progress [GRASP] is pleased to invite you to attend our next meeting, with guest speaker, Phil Alagia, Chief-of-Staff to Essex County Executive Joe DiVincenzo. Mr. Alagia will provide an overview of Essex County governance, discuss some of the key issues facing the county, and suggest actions County residents can undertake to support the County's political efforts. The program will take place on Tuesday, March 8 at 7.30pm, at the Baird Center, 5 Mead Street, South Orange.

Grassroots Action Supporting Progress [GRASP] is a political organization with a progressive focus, whose goals are to develop informed positions on issues and candidates, share this information with the public and take effective actions in support of these positions. We are made up of residents of Maplewood, South Orange and neighboring New Jersey towns.

I think you'd be surprised at how many actions taken by County government not only have an impact on Mpl residents, but can actually be influenced by them. Instead of being so cynical, why don't you stop by and see if your cynicism is warranted.

DKMplwd, besides taking my money , the only thing that the county does that affects me is getting passed over for tee-times @ Byrne in favor of retired county employees . Why is Joe "D" the highest payed county ex. in the USA ? I'm more intrested in GRIP then GRASP , Get Rid of Incumbent Politicians .

DKM - doesn't the County Executive tell maplewood's elected democrats what to do, at the county level and then the state level?

And what is this push, DKM, to get locals to help support the county's political efforts. It is in existence, it is called the Essex County democrat Party Machine.

I thought the county, supported by what, 23% of our tax dollar is supposed to provide certain services to maplewoodians and all the other Essex county communities.

DKM or anyone from Grasp, how many towns are in Essex County?

DKM - quick - in the past 15 years how many essex county executives have been indicted?

The answer makes one wonder what the agenda of DKM really is. Walking with crooks????
