When I drove the length Ridgewood from South Orange to Millburn this morning there were about 27 Profeta signs to the 2 Deluca signs. One house had both a Profetia AND Deluca sign.

I then drove the length of Wyoming from Millburn Ave to South Orange Ave where there were 33 Profeta and 3 Deluca signs.

Later this afternoon I once again drove across Wyoming Ave, but cut down once of the side streets to Ridgewood. I noticed at least two houses with both signs.

I thought you could only vote for two canidates? If you're a MOL poster with two signs up, I'm curious which of the two canidates you support?

My friend's eight year old asked why people didn't cut out the name from the blue sign and paste it over the name on the white sign they weren't voting for.

I told her I'd post a not on MOL asking for her.

The sign poll then is
60 signs for profeta and 5 for vic.

This last minute poll shows Fred with an 80% solid majority

There could be more than one voter at each house, and the signs represent each of them. When I went electioneering last November in Pennsylvania, lots of married couples were cancelling each other's votes out.

Because we've been really, really busy. It was originally our intention to do something creative marrying the two signs but we've been swamped and haven't gotten around to it. Besides, we are having so much fun with people who are wondering why we have the two signs, they clearly want to ask about them but aren't quite sure how to go about it.

Hi Bookgal-
Actually your house was one of the houses I saw! LOL The eight year old who asked was the one mrbookgal and misslittlebookgal see me with from time to time.

I was tempted to call and ask you, but like you said, those of us who were curious, don't know how to ask. LOL

At least it isn't as bad as it was in South Orange when one of the canidate's own campaign manager had up two signes because they didn't support one of the other canidates running on the same ticket.

I drove the length of Boyden, Elmwood, and Midland. Deluca signs 47 Profeta/Grodman 4.

Percent for Deluca 90%

Turnout, Turnout, Turnout.

Vote a bullet for Vic.

Not true Danger. I just happen to have driven both elmwood and Boyden not 1/2 hour ago (and most of Parker to boot). I'd say the sign count was closer to 5:1 P-G to D on each street (whatever that means). I didn't do Midland though so I can't refute your numbers there.

sorry....

I meant that very very very sarcastically. As in that's a terrible slogan. I think most people knew that.

>>>> Thanks for clearing that up, Aquaman.

>> I did not want to imply anything other than it's a terrible slogan because of what it could mean. I wasn't advocating the other meaning.

>>>> Okay okay aquaman. I believe you.

>> I do not want to get a letter from any lawyers.

The election sign tally cited above reflects the geographic lines which were drawn during reval. Unfortunately, it seems that a lot of people are viewing the Fred vs Vic contest as reopening of that whole debacle. When will we be able to get this town unified again?

Joan:
Please explain. Elmwood runs east/west (more or less) and Boyden north/south (more or less). Both streets begin and end east of the tracks, (far away from the "hill") supposedly, pro-vic, anti-fred territory. My observation was many more P/G signs than D signs. I don't get it. (BTW have you seen Jacoby street and enviorns? Way more P/G signs in the heart of "D" territory. What's up with that?

Yabbadabbadoo:

Whenever some neighborhoods are solidly behind one candidate and other neighborhoods are silently behind another, I generally look to the reasons why. In this case, the apparent schism can be attributed to the fact that each slate has been advocating a very different perception from the other as to where the town should be going.

My own neighborhood seems rather evenly divided as far as lawn signs go but that seems to be the exception in this election.

I don't consider Midland/Boyden/Elmwood to be a traditional stronghold for either slate but that doesn't impact on the conclusion reached.
