I think all NJ lawyers can readily do what they need to get the notary stamp, etc. but they don't have to. |

Lawyers can only do two notarial functions, affirmations and acknowlegements. This two functions, however, comprise about 90% of what a notary can do and does do in New Jersey. |

And a lawyer in NJ doesn't need a stamp - he or she need only sign it then write or type "Attorney at law in the State of New Jersey" |

But you might have trouble if a NJ attorney takes an acknowledgement if the document needs to be recorded out of state. Legal here, but other states might not accept it. LibraryLady, what other functions does a notary have? |

jab: I would think that the "Full faith and Credit" clause of the Constitution covers that. Each State has to accept what is legal in another State. Library Lady: What are the other functions of a notary? |
