From NJPolitics.com

Maplewood Mayor Fred Profeta lost his bid for re-election. He was defeated in the Township Committee primary by former Mayor Vic DeLuca, 1904-1717. Incumbent Ian Grodman, who ran with Profetta, received 2219 votes.

i could be wrong, as i understand it, grodman was beating profeta for a short time before the counting was done. That may be where nj politics numbers come from. I am positive tho that grodman didn't get the most votes overall.

The Star Ledger has the following results

DeLuca 1,904
Grodman 2,219
Profeta 1,717

Could this be correct?

Hi Joel!
Did you know the people that are suing the school district about your ban on our beautiful, traditional and historic christmas music have a vic sign on their lawn?
Yes, they do!

The corner property to which you're referring is not the property of "the people that are suing the school district." Although I know those people well [the plaintiffs] and although I disagree with them on that issue and others they're my friends. As always, facts sometimes get in the way of opinions on this board.

Hi wendy,
I've known them for years as well. They want vic to win. Ask them.
The people who wanted to ban wind chimes in Maplewood and those who hate christmas music wanted vic to win as well. We all know this.

mem, I don't reveal people's conversations or likes or dislikes in public. I'm one of the plaintiff's wife's closest friends and I know her opinions on everything, believe me. You may want to look at another thread started by lumpyhead in soapbox as well. That's it for me now.

Keep up with that line of attack, mem (or lumpyhead). It will work about as well in November.

I have two sets of wind chimes on my property and I love Christmas music; but I wanted Vic to win. Go figure.

stevef,

I am not lumpyhead, more lies, huh? Check with Dave Ross.

BTW, nice hair, guys! (see, I can lie sometimes too.)

All kidding aside, unaffiliates won't vote for vic, they are unaffiliated because they don't like extremists. Simple.

And btw wendy, I didn't address you at all in my posts - why the feeble attempt to come after me as if I did? Are my wind chimes too loud, or is it your world, we just live in it?

Chill out!

Uhhh...Good for them! Even Bush had his good initiatives, like....like....ummmm....well, good for them anyway! To tell you the truth, I'm not 100% sure what Vic's view of the Christmas music policy is. It didn't matter to me and I felt confident in making general assumptions.

Mem, when Wendy and Dave tell me I need to control my violent temper, I want you to know that I try, I really do try . . . . . . . but when I hear the soft murmur of my political lawn sign gently bending in the wind on my highly taxed Maplewood property, and that beautiful, traditional and historic sound is humiliated and degraded by the deafening roar of wind chimes, Christmas music and leafblowers,

I ..just..go..berSERK!
