Well, I would say that this was a complete success. Great to see the Elks, Lions, Troop 5 BSA and everyone else who helped make this work. Food was superb, music was great and the money all goes to a worthy cause. GREAT JOB TO ALL WHO MADE THIS HAPPEN! PS. Yes, Fred, I saw you there, along with Kathy, David and Bart. Thanks to all of you for your support. And thank you Bart for helping in the kitchen. PPS. Should I ask where Vic, Ian and Ken were? PPPS. Since this is a joint M/SO thing, where were the SO township committee members? |

Letters: Yes, it was a great event. People just kept coming. The take for Katrina relief must have been good. Vic is out in the State of Washington, doing good work. Trustee Art Taylor was there from South Orange, and we had a nice chat about the shared services initiative. As to the others, for all I know they were there when I wasn't. I know the effort was supported by all governing body officials. And Bart's kitchen help was much appreciated. |

Fred, I knew you read these posts!!! I was just having fun (at both of our expenses) with the Vic, Ian and Ken question. Someone who was working there from SO knew about my embarrassing question involving you not being at Dehart the week before. He said that he had not seen any of the SO trustees there and asked if I was going to mention it. I originally wasn't, but then figured, "What the hell", and did. Truly great work today. I and others asked them if they would make this an annual event. There is always some good cause to donate money towards. I think they might consider it. That would be terrific.

Letters: I read MOL whenever I have time to. And so do all members of the TC. Almost all of us will post when we think that a thread contains a significant factual inaccuracy, or when one of our positions is being grossly misrepresented. I would love to post more often, but I don't think that this would serve the best interests of Maplewood. In the past, when members of the TC have engaged in ongoing debates online, the result is often a lot of piling on - and then we're spending too much time here and not enough on the town's business. But I try to post more around election time. |

I think your use of MOL is about as appropriate as it should be. This is definitely not the forum in which to conduct debates with people. (No offense Dave and Jamie.) As I tell my son, if nothing really good can come out of something, do not do it. (By the way, I think I was set up on the SO trustee remark.... and I will get even )
