Hi there - i'm contemplating buying a home security system, and I'm curious if anyone knows the costs for registering independently with maplewood police and fire? (Slomins charges $110 to register. But I suspect they fold a surcharge into this `complementary service' ) Also, we're thinking of going with Metro -- a small company with no yearly contract. Any thoughts? |

The Lib - gotta love the false alarms. I think we're up to a $150 fine for the next one. For a while I think our cats were dancing in front of one of the motion detectors -- purposely trying to annoy us... We had to get it readjusted finally... Other times, well, let's see - before we got additional locks on our doors, the wind actually blew our back door open one night at about 3 am. Fun stuff like that.... I'd say the police must hate us, but actually, we're an easy way to make a few bucks for the department... |
