The Township is extending the date for residents to drop off leaves at the Recycling Center. The new date is Saturday January 14 at 12:00 p.m. The leaves must be in biodegradable bags or you can bring them in barrels that you must empty and take back with you. Eric |

What's the rule on picking up leaves (in a container) in early spring when they start picking up lawn clippings? Will they take the leaves? |

KMK, We don't take branches now, they are picked up in the spring. Ligeti, Yes, we do pick up leaves in the spring if they are in containers. Eric |

It's Sunday 1/22 and I just filled four bags of wind-strewn leaves ... you think recycling center would turn me away at this late date? |

eb1154: My wife just called and told me the leaves were picked up this morning from the curb! I thought this was all done. If I had known I would have put out the significant piles I have collected. What gives? Will they come back? Thanks, |

I still have leaves and a Christmas tree at my curb. Called about the tree last week and they took my address. Nothing yet. Saw the street sweeper out last week but not on my street. |

Our neighbors have a storm drain in front of their yard with loads of leaves piled up and along the gutter as well, mainly from wind blowing them around. We have raked the leaves more than a few times since late fall so water can flow into the drain unimpeded. I can't see myself raking these darned things all winter and they are too smelly now to put in the yard or cart to the recycling center. I know pick-ups are over but I hope the town will come by to pick them up soon!

Spare_o wrote: "they are too smelly now to put in the yard or cart to the recycling center" I can understand your worry about the smell, but if the leaves are mixed up (i.e., oxygenated), the bacteria causing the smell will die and they'll stop smelling bad. If you have a corner of your yard, just make a small pile. Mix it up with a pitchfork or shovel once a week, and it'll be mostly dirt by summer. Our trees finally got picked up last week. |

Eponymous--Point well taken. I have severe allergies to mold so I really try to stay away from this stuff. |
