January 16h: Our Lady of Sorrows, Prospect St.- SO
5th Annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day Celebration

Join your Maplewood and South Orange neighbors during a time for reflection and a time for service to honor the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

Interfaith Worship Service
1 pm - 2 pm
Guest Speaker: Dr. Clement Price noted historian and director of the Rutgers Institute on Ethnicity, Culture, and the Modern Experience speaking about the Academic Achievement Gap — what would Dr. King have us do?

Action
Each year we urge residents to make the MLK holiday a day on, not a day off! Here’s what you can do:

+ Bring new or gently used K-12 books which will be sent to hurricane-ravaged Slidell, LA.

+ Donate canned and other non-perishable food for the OLS Food Pantry.

Collection hours: 12 – 4

+ Volunteer to work with community organizations focusing on closing the academic achievement gap. Volunteer fair will run 2-4 pm at Our Lady of Sorrows.

Call the Coalition Office at 973-761-6116 x6 for more information.
