Many on the BOT, including our Village President, seem not to understand what it means to have a conflict of interest, and hide behind Matthews and his lame defense of the issue. I think it would be helpful for us on MOL to list a few of the things we consider to be a conflict of interest, and at the very least represent placing individuals in a position of having to chose what may be right for the village vs what may be right for them.

So, here goes. I'll start it off.

1. Having a Village President involved in the purchase of commerical property for personal/family gain in the downtown business area and having that same Village President preside over and report on downtown development projects.

In order to further public communications, I offer this announcement: I am scheduled to be traveling to Germany next week to check on my latest investments. I'm so thrilled to call Germany my new home.
