They actually thought it was appropriate for them as public employees to challenge the lack of "diversity" of the Beifus entourage. Since when were they elected to serve as the EEOC for every organization they come in contact with? We can't even get these trustees to hold developers hands to the fire on issues that directly impact the village, like when will the project be done? They should have welcomed the fact that no "diverse" members were associated with this fiasco, but that point may have been lost on them. Now they want to tell them how to implement their own human resource policy. What is that about? Maybe Matthews will have to put in language in all development agreements specifying the make-up of any people covered by the contract. But while's he's at it, how about including items that will actually speak to project performance issues and penalties and timelines? I am all for diversity, which is a large reason for why we moved here. However, diversity (or lack of it) was NOT the issue last night.
