Does anyone have an update on the status of the proposal to change the Village Charter so the Trustees get PAID? Last we heard, in Sept 2004 the majority of the BOT voted in favor of this (Trustees Joyce, Rosner & Rosen voted against) proposal to pay themselves and then it was supposed to go to Trenton for approval before POSSIBLY coming back as a referendum to the town taxpayers. Did Trenton ever approve this? Will it be on the ballot this November?

Not approved by Trenton yet. Remember, I told you it would be neck and neck with the supermarket which happens first (market of trustees getting paid).

Mark, Thanks for the update. Although, considering that if it appears on the ballot in Nov 2006 or even Nov 2007, it will STILL beat the opening of the Supermarket. So, the odds are pretty good on my winning that Ice Cream bet. |

Maybe Cold Stone could front us the ice cream and whichever one loses will pay on decision day. This way we don't have to wait till next year. |

Maybe we can have HUD provide CDBG grant money to Stone Cold Creamery to pay for the ice cream and then on decision day, we can use the grant money for SOPAC and then one of us can pay Stone Cold Creamery and have - you know - a switch? |
