This is a circus. If the majority of the towns gov't does not know where or how our tax dollars are being used then this is a circus. Devaris is on the Tony Smith committee and is a trustee he was not aware? Rosen had no idea? Calabrese had to know and certainty Gross knew. Mr. Rosner seems to be the only person who questioned where the money was actually coming from. Mr. Rosner please take the gavel! |

Perhaps Mr. Brant is looking for a "grassroots" effort for Mr. Rosner to run for Pres in the next election (Next, right.. Calabrese is up for re-election then?) Or.. is Mr. Brant looking for a "grassroots" effort for a recall? |

SOlady- Maybe it's both. We can do that, can't we? I'm somewhat concerned by the time the next BOT election rolls around it might not be possible to undo some of what's been done. |

Mr. Brant, I find it disingenuous of you to declare that “Devaris is on the Tony Smith committee and as a trustee he was not aware?” when you hadn’t yet received my answer to the similar question you asked in the thread “Mr DeVaris”. I have posted in the other thread where you asked me the question, and I repeat it here: I never tried to hide the fact that I was aware that the $250K was coming from the taxpayers money. Read this from my August 25, 2005 post here on MOL: Granted the $250,000 CDBG money could have been used to reduce our taxes for 2005 by approximately $44 per household ($250,000÷5,600 households). And although to some these $44 would have made a difference in their budget, it is a worthwhile sacrifice when it comes to enriching our downtown with art, and further enhancing our reputation as a vibrant arts' community." You'll find that statement here: http://www.southorangevillage.com/cgi-bin/show.cgi?tpc=3133&post=441148#POST4411 48

I understand that Mr. Devaris thanks for clearing it up. It is very upsetting as a resident to sit and watch a meeting like the one this past Monday. residents being made to feel as though they can not ask questions as to where their money is being spent. And then to open the paper today to read that we the tax payers have been misinformed. I am all for the Tony Smith but I do not want to be mislead by this board or any board that controls my money. Thank you for your answers |
