At tonight's BOT Meeting, once Calabrese was forced to leave the room over his Conflict of Interest with the SID discussion, Mark inquired about the status of one of Calabrese's other Conflicts of Interest - Sayid's rugstore project. I believe the answer was something to the effect of -that project is "on hold". Can someone please explain why Sayid was allowed to tear his rug store building down, put up a plywood fence & leave the project "on hold"? |

MHD- Do you really want someone to answer your question about the rug store? |

MRosner and/or Eric, can you ask Sayid if he intends/planning to build a hotel at that site? I would suggest asking Bill C. too if he is aware of this plan and/or involved in it. I have heard that was the intention all along. Perhaps a direct question will get an adequate answer? That would explain why Sayid keeps putting the project on hold and acquiring surrounding properties. |

Sean: I requested that John Gross ask him specifically what he has planned for the site and when he plans to go back to the planning board. At this point, he has said nothing, done nothing and does not appear to plan to do anything in the near future.

What's the status of the Sickley Building, more of the same.... nothing! or is someone planning to come out from behind the opening curtain soon. I wonder who that might be? |

Mark, You have stated you would support comdemnation for Beifus. Would you support condemnation for Sayid's property? Calabrese & Devaris must recuse themselves, so you only need 2 other Trustees to get on board. |

MHD: I would certainly like to have the discussion with the rest of the BOT. The parcel itself is small so I would also like to find out how much interest there would be from developers (before we condemn). I am not interested in seeing a large structure on that site. My feeling is any large developer is going to ask for a parking waiver, a height variance and a PILOT (and then show us how they can fit in 50 apartments and 12 spaces with some crap about how everyone who will move in will only take the train and never need a car). However, there are plenty of smaller developers who might be willing to work with the village to develop the parcel. If we can keep the project small, offices instead of apartments, and with dedicated parking spaces.

Thanks, Mark. It just amazes me that someone can tear down a building (thereby paying less property taxes) and then leave a vacant lot indefinitely. It is even more outrageous that the Village President is involved in doing business with such a person. |

MHD- Pay less property taxes? Try, pays no property taxes! You want to get your heart rate up? Check the public record. This alleged rug pusher does not pay his taxes.

MRosner - who has said nothing (Sayid or Gross)? If Sayid, is there a legal timeframe he must abide to? Can the (now demolished) building be put up for sale by the town? Does anyone know if Calabrese is involved with this particular area with Sayid? |

Jayjay, the Candleshop info may be news to you, but some of us heard it months ago, so it isn't a new "leak" |

I guess the part that was "news" was the fact that demolition is to start within 9 months. Has he been before the Planning Board with a new development project? Or will this just be another bombed out site, off the tax books for heaven knows how long? |

What is disturbing how the Village Administrator dismisses (listen to: www.howard-levison.com/bot03132006_Sayid_Plaza.wmv )any involvement in the Sayid Plaza property when the Village declared this area in need of redevelopment – blighted and as such created a special zone. Why did we create this zone. Will this type of inaction hold true to other redevelopment zones being suggested - Valley Street? |
