JTA you said Jimmy told you that he put a stop to this on Friday when the police came. Then why did Mr.Rosner see the traffic cones in public spots on the street on Saturday evening? |

The only thing that I'm sure of is that he routinely ties at least one metered space for the intake of valet customers (not sure how that is justified). I'll be watching for cones in the town lots next time I'm downtown... |

I think it is clear that he does what he likes. He puts menus in his window to avoid tickets. How many of us on MOL have gotten tickets in town? |

Okay, so I'm insane. LOL. As it was pointed out in this thread, I'm not a big fan of Cryan's; never really have been. But, hopefully now that Jimmy's aware of the outrage, there will no longer be cones in the spots, mistake or not. I'd be the last person you'd expect to give him the benefit of the doubt; but I'm willing to take what he said at face value.
I look at it this way, even if Jimmy knew about the situation, at least it won't happen again. He knows there are people watching. The police are aware of what happened and so is the paring authority.

You do have a point. I thought for sure Jimmy said the police were called on Saint Patrick's Day, his busiest day of the year. Now I'm wondering if I misunderstood him. If I did, he knows who I am. He knows how to get in touch with my brother if he wants to get in touch with me to correct me. Or he can send me a PL through MOL.
I'm not making excuses nor am I doubting what other people saw. I'll be the first one to take pictures and call the police if I see cones blocking spaces. But I'm hoping now that so many of us are aware there's a problem, maybe it will go away. We can hope, right?

I already posted the note in which she said this. Maybe you missed it? Funny how it wasn't until after Sheena's not about Jimmy renting spots, did people start posting about him renting spots in the town lot. Maybe you need a better hobby then following me around MOL.

Clarification - I posted Jimmy 'rents' spots. I figured that people would determine that to mean private spots since you can't rent public parking spots, thank you. |

Advanced appology that this has little to do with Jimmy and parking, but still has relevance within this thread. At least with Jimmy, I'm sure someone will keep us updated...

JTA- Um, actually, before Sheena's first post on this thread, it was mentioned that these were public spaces...did you miss that? Cause I think you did.
I read your post where you just quoted Sheena's post with the information...so no I didn't miss it. But it still doesn't answer the question...Sheena never said that the spaces were public. Quoting her only proves that her post did not state that. Did you miss that too?
I'd have to respectfully disagree and say that I am not following you around MOL. I was involved in this discussion and, once again, I saw false information coming from you. I sought clarity, even though I know the challenges that task brings.
Actually, hate to burst your bubble, but my first post had nothing to do with you. The second one did because I was replying to a comment made by you...directly at me and Sheena. My posts are at least relevant to the thread and not an attempt at a personal attack on someone. And you said I was following you... you're so silly.
Oh and you didn't even join this thread until after Sheena and I had posted a few times. And then your first post attacked SHU students...irrelevant to the topic of parking. You started on the offensive, so I'm afraid it seems as though you're following us. Maybe that should stop. Thanks. |

Do you always go around speaking for Sheena? This isn't the first time you've done this; nor is it the first time you've tried to drag me into something. Please show me the post where I attacked you in any way. Like I said, you need a new hobby...
Nobody was talking / posting about Jimmy renting spots in a town lot until after Sheena's note saying he rented spots. I think it's time to drop this as you are only making matters worse for Jimmy.

Since Kristen seems to want to continue to make an issue out of this, I'm wondering what those of you who were posting about the situation with the valets in the town lot by Cryan's thought Sheena's post meant when she said the following...

Did you take it to mean the spots were rented in a town lot, or a private lot? Before the note was posted, there was a group of people posting about the cones blocking spaces in the public lot by Cryan's. It wasn't until the 'Jimmy rents those spots' the discussion shifted somewhat to discussions about renting spots. And of course people (including me) were rightfully annoyed to think Jimmy was renting spots in a town lot.
If I'm the only one willing to admit I misread the note, then I'll apologize; but I know at least three of you have emailed me to tell me you also thought Sheena was talking about the public lot with the valet. |

I must agree with you. I often read threads quickly & when I saw the refenrce to "renting spots" after so many posts about Valet Parking in the town lot, I ASSUMED the "rented" spots were in the town lot.
It sounds like the "rented" spots are really irrelvant since jeep & Mark Rosner both witnessed Valet parking in a TOWN lot. |

When I read "lots" near Cryans, I just thought of the whole area around the restaurant (The expanse of parking spaces between Bank of America, Toro Loco, Starbucks, the firehouse and cryans) .. the lot next to the law offices, street parking on Sloan st, etc. Even after reading the thread I wasnt sure of whether or not Cryans was using public or private parking areas. |

Still, As MHD just pointed out, the discussion was about witnesses seeing TOWN spaces being used when Sheena then said that they were being 'rented'.
If she was referring to something other than what was being discussed up to that point then maybe she should have been more specific. |

I don't think I have to appologize for coming to Sheena's defense. Maybe I should appologize that Sheena and I aren't on this board 24/7 to reply to every single attack made on us or SHU. Sorry, but we actually get out of our rooms.
Oh and JTA- The post where you attacked SHU students had disappeared, but luckily I saw it. I quoted it above for those who unfortunately missed it.
Once again, you were on the offensive and brought SHU into this. Don't fool anyone into thinking that I brought you into this, please. Did you read my last post, cause I think you missed it. How are Sheena and I following you around MOL if we posted in this thread before you even did...and your first post...WAS ABOUT US! Everyone has the right to post wherever they want, but don't accuse me of something that you are clearly guilty of.
And, um, how could someone rent public spaces...granted Sheena's post wasn't specific, but you can't rent public spaces. It wouldn't be a 'thread kill' if she introduced the idea that someone illegally and openly rents from a public parking lot...in that case, I wouldn't think the thread would end there...
Just because people misunderstood a post (which wasn't specific enough), does not mean that Sheena lied or posted incorrect information. She referred to the real spots that Jimmy rents and others thought she meant the public lot. A misunderstanding is a poor excuse to desperately jump to attack someone, as JTA is attempting to do. And I really don't think this discussion is making matters worse for Jimmy. That damage has already been done and what I am saying isn't making it worse, at all.

You need to stop. First off, jeep's original post was not about a private lot. If it were, there would have been no need for this thread to even exist. It seems, from my conversations with Jimmy (who I read Sheena's note to the other night when I called him), Sheena must have misunderstood him. Even Jimmy got the impression Sheena meant the town lot from the note I read him.
I have serious doubts Jeep or the others would have continued to voice their opinions about the valet and the renting of spots (which wasn't even discussed until Sheena's post) if they thought the valet parking or the renting of spots was taking place in a private lot. T
he posts were about the 'public lot' when Sheena made her 'renting' comment. There would have been no reason for any of us to have thought of other then the lot Jeep started this thread about when Sheena posted the note that started the discussion about renting lots..
The bank lot is a block South of Cryan's and the old First Street School lot in a half block up on Valley. Neither is right nest to Cryan's, so they wouldn't have been the lot Jeep was talking about.
FWIW It was Sheena who posted her note would be 'a thread kill; I just copied and pasted it. That said,' give it up. If I didn't call and ask Jimmy myself about what was said, the accusations he rented the spots in a town lot would have continued. Sheena goofed, get over it.

I was too tired to check when I got home last night. I think I might take a ride past there tonight after I take my nephew's to the movies. I'm still unclear if anyone saw valets parking the cars or cones before last weekend (Saint Patrick's Day).
Let's say, the valet situation has been happening in the lot Jeep first posted about every weekend since January. I'd be the first to say it is wrong, illegal and he should be hung out to dry. We know it happened last weekend because people posting here saw the cones and valets, and the police were called.
We know people see Cryan's menus in cars that aren't ticketed (something else I agree is wrong). For all I know Jimmy lied to me to cover his butt. We can't change what has already happened; but we can hope as a result of this thread what people have been seeing stops.

Okay this is getting ridiculous...
When Jimmy called me, he did explain the situation of renting spaces and appreciated my initial sentiments regarding the matter. I did not feel it was my place to transcribe the entire conversation and post it on a public message but I did ask permission to clarify the issue that he was 'renting spots' since January (I thought some of those spaces may be the ones that had cones in them - I didn't know). I had hoped it would be a threadkill so we could stop this but obviously it was not (those apologies are to Jimmy). If he chooses to post on this board, he may, if not, I respect that decision.
I should have posted "private lots", again, my sincerest apologies... are we all on the same page or do we want to continue discussing me posting "renting spaces" as oppose to me posting "renting private spaces" and making snide comments towards each other (totally unnecessary - let's be mature, please).
This is getting a little bit out of control. I still believe people should just contact him if they have questions. As you can already see, he was very open and willing with other posters to address their concerns.

I know Sheena said "thread kill"...why would she call it a "thread kill" if she introduced that info...well, she didn't introduce that information, people just assumed so. IDK it made sense to me, but I know others got confused, and I can see how. But JTA, other didn't find clarification through attacking others. You did. You're the one who needs to stop, dear. This has nothing to do with Sheenas "goof" anymore, it's about youre odd obsession with attacking SHU, whether blatantly, or subtly, specifically me and Sheena. I know I don't initiate it, so I wonder why you're constantly consumed with us. Please stop. Get a hobby. Whatever it takes.
