Am I the only one that's annoyed by that terrible music blasting outside of Bunny's? Is it really necessary? I resent having to listen to 'If I were a Rich Man' played so loud that I can hear it by the pool/tennis courts. It's just so uninviting. |

Sarah, I live on Church Street and regularly walk to town. I don't believe that you can hear the music from the pool/tennis courts unless it's after 4 a.m. during a blizzard when there isn't any sledding on Flood's Hill. Have you stopped by or called the owners to ask them to lower the volume? I'm sorry if I seem defensive, but this landmark village establishment has been under full attack for many years now. It seems more responsible to take up an issue with a proprietor first, the public second. |

Sarah: As part of the Arts Center Complex, Bunny's has been playing broadway tunes in a hope that the public has an appreciation for the theatre. I apologize if you find it loud. On occassion it is mistakenly turned up. With the change of weather and the availabity of alfresco dining, the casual music is enjoying and I assure you not loud. I find broadway tunes inspiring.... I'll ask the bartender to monitor sound level more closely upon turning the stereo on. Thank You. |

Sarah - My problem with the music is that half the time I walk by it is skipping. How much energy does it take to switch CDs? Bunnys seems to be a great place for a beer and a shot. The music outside is terrible, the food is decent, but the service can be iffy. |

Sarah- I enjoy show tunes. I also enjoy long walks in the park, people who don't litter, any man not afraid to cry while watching Field of Dreams, a good joke, homophobes like SODA , angora sweaters, and alone time with the wife.

I would imagine that it takes the same amount of energy to walk in and tell the bartender that his CD is skipping as it does for him to change the CD. |

I actually love the music. Every day when I get off the train, I walk down the staircase over by Blue Moon, and it's a pleasant cap to the day to hear Sinatra crooning. It's also complete BS to allege it can be heard at the tennis courts. |

I walked into Bunnys a short while ago, and yelled at them that there CD was skipping. Laughter abounded throughout the place as I was told that it was the remix playing , of something or another, mystery solved. |

Hayden, Try walking by that dance studio or art studio or whatever it is now (the one next door to Blockbuster that's changed it's name so many times, I don't know what to call it) at a late hour. They play music a lot louder and way more annoying than Bunny's If you can call this place uninviting, then you obviously haven't been there. Walk in and give it a try. I'll bet that you're greted as if you were an everyday patron. This hospitality has kept Bunny's in business for about 80 years. (the oldest bar in South Orange) |

I'll quote a plaque that is hanging proudly at Dillon's Pub in West Orange..."There are no strangers here...Only friends you haven't met." Although it's hanging up at Dillon's, The same is true at Bunny's. It's a great place to spend time with your family or friends to eat, drink, or watch any major sporting event. Don't forget the internet jukebox. They don't have nearly enough Jimmy Buffett on it, but it's awesome. It's an excellent atmosphere for whatever you're looking for in a restaurant/bar. |

Jeez Louise. I'm not saying that Bunny's itself (inside) is a problem. I just don't think it's necessary to blast music outside. Anywhere. Showtunes or whatever. I CAN hear it by the tennis courts - During the summer coming from the pool and now during the afternoon walking back from the playground by the pool. Just because a place has been a fixture in the community for years doesn't mean they can't do something annoying every now and then. I used to frequent Bunny's. Now I won't go there because I can't stand the music blasting outside. Parrothead: I'm sure the music at the place down the street is just as annoying - luckily I don't have to hear it since I have a young child and no evening social life :o) |

I do go to Bunnies, and I usually ask them to turn the outside speakers down. If you can hear it anywhere other than the outside tables, it's probably too loud for the people sitting at the outside tables. Regarding the choice of music. I'll take my chances. It's a part of the experience. J.B. |

Reservoir is a little crowded on week-ends, but that is because it offers great value: excellent food, generous portions, reasonable prices, BYOB, good service, great pizza, and unpretentious family atmosphere. It is worth the wait. Oh, and no outside noise pollution. I'll go there 100 times before I go to the noisy, dark, smokey, singles' bar atmosphere of Bunny's. I hope that when - if ever - the retail across the street from Bunny's is built and open, they would object to the blasting music, and I hope that Bunny's will stop polluting the air. Just mho. |

Bunnie's is the best! I am also waiting for the smoking ban since, alas, the older I get the more sensitive my eyes get to smoke. (Yes, eyes! The nose and lungs seem OK with it but my eyes water like hell at the least hint of cigarette smoke. Go figure!)

I love Bunny's, but I'm waiting for April 15. Actually, I cannot wait for the smoking ban in general. I've gotten pizza for take-out a few times recently (yum), but there's still something to be said about a piping hot pizza going straight to your table. As for the music- it doesn't bother me. But if it really bothers you, talk to the owners directly. They're really nice people and receptive to input (as we all know). Instead of tearing down yet another place on MOL, lets just enjoy our choices in bars/resteraunts. |

I did not realize I would cause such a stir on the board with my comment. Perhaps I have been too critical. I will go inside and tell them about skipping CDs from now on. I do enjoy the pizza there but have found other things on the menu to be so-so. As for the service being iffy, I will stick to that. I have sensed that the later in the night you go to Bunnys the worse the service gets. I just do not enjoy having to track down my waiter. I will say that earlier in the evening I have found the service to be much better. I hope this post is met with less abrasive responses. I am just starting out on this board and didn't realize my words would cause such a ruckus. |

We go with our kids, who love to try to count all the bunnies in the non-smoking room. They are budding Bunny's pizza fans! The only downside is having to take the kids through the smoky bar to use the restroom. Soon, that will not be a problem. (my daughter loves to dance to the music, but she'll dance anywhere...) |

Aside from the food (which we love), reasons that Bunny's is great: It feels like a comfortable neighborhood hang-out. Everyone there is friendly, respectful and welcoming to everyone, no matter who they are. Show tunes or not, no homphobes there. A woman by herself can go in and hang-out without feeling hit on. It takes about two seconds to become a "regular". They make families feel welcome. Adults who don't want to trip over children running amok don't even notice the kids who are there. The prices are quite reasonable. As of April 15, it will be even better.

I like Bunny's a lot -- although I can't go there with my kids until April 15, I am looking forward to it. But I have to join Sarah H in saying that I don't like the music playing in the street -- either the selections or the volume. It feels intrusive to me. Let the flames begin. |
