Trustees, stop your losses and the town's now. Stop Tau now. Have you seen the 152+ signatures of SO voters on the petition? You claim to base your decision to publicly fund Tau on a survey or poll of public opinion. You must have seen it, so please make it available to the public. Please provide copies of the survey with the results and analysis for pick up in village hall and/or mount the same on the village's website.

At last night's meeting, one or more of you said you would locate or identify which bond allegedly got the loan money that you think is being used to pay for Tau. The town clerk has not been able to find it, even though numerous SO residents also helped look. How will you find it? When will you find it?

Until you can find the bond, stop TAU. The village clerk also found no record of public discussion about publicly funding Tau. Yet you claimed such discussions as another reason why you voted to spending several hundreds of thousands of dollars on Tau in a time of shaky village finances, increasing village debt and steeply rising taxes.

When you initially were asked about all of this, to a person nearly each and everyone of you said you had not made a mistake. Last night's discussion among you represented some progress on this point. You seem to realize that incremental decisions about Tau and other things creates more problems than they are worth. But your position now is that while you made a mistake, you do not want to deal with their consequences or protect the town from them. You can and you should. Pay off the fabrication contract immediately. Wait, conduct full public discussions and a real survey about whether people really want this expenditure at this time, and want the gazebo and fountain ripped out of the present location. Don't just admit your error and then not act to correct fallout from it. Please do the right thing. Remember Harry Truman (what a name!): the buck stops here. Lead us by your example, not by your mistakes.

I'm still convinced that Calabrese and others are embezzling money from the town.

SO, have you sent this letter to the trustees themselves, or are you just posting here? MHD has provided the personal email addresses of the village "leaders" in other threads for this very purpose. :-) (btw, I agree with you!)

I'm posting it here. No time to do much more.

Does anyone know how Teriann Moore-Abrams' email is set up within the southourange.org domain? Is she tmooreabrams@southorange.org? tmoore-abrams@....?

I am setting up a distribution list, where you'll be able to send a single email and have it go to all the trustees and the VP. I'd rather use the official town email addresses than people's personal addresses.
