I want to put up a fence around my backyard. I'm on a corner lot, so the fence will go along a portion of the street. Heard I need to get town approval. Any clue how I do this? SO website not very helpful.

go into engineer's office with your survey and the description of your proposed fence, the location of the fence marked on the survey. I think the village code online specifies what you are supposed to do. there's a small fee, and it doesn't take long.
