I watched today as a car almost damaged its front tire. Not only it the fencing covering the sidewalk, but there are metal struts/supports at the bottom of the fencing, and obviously part of the fence is so close to the edge of the sidewalk, the metal struts are protruding onto the road. This at the very least could damage a car, and a person being forced to walk on the road as close to the kerb as possible to avoid cars, could trip and fall if they didn't notice it, maybe even in the path of a car. If work was progressing, we could see a time that the pedestrian may get their sidewalk back, but I cannot see any work. For safety sake, give the walkers and mothers pushing strollers, etc their sidewalk back... |
