Just curious, has anyone ever gone to see Tau at Hunter College in New York before all this stuff began in town?

One of the claims the sculpture people make is that tons of people will come to South Orange to see Tau. Of course, they have never presented any data to back this up. And I don't think there is a marketing plan ($) to make South Orange a tourist stop, is there?

Have any of the sculpture people or any of the BOT's spoken with anyone at Hunter College about what it takes to maintain a Tau, and whether they carry any special insurance and whether they are bound by terms similar to those in the contract the village signed. I guess if they bought it outright (and I don't know whether they did) they could do with it whatever they want. Anyone out there know?

Saw it by accident in January- it's huge. I found it cold, formless and just ugly. As stated in other threads, I think it will look very out-of-place on Sloan Street. The Hunter College building it stands by is huge, so it doesn't dominate the landscape quite so much.

Didn't someone post a picture of someone standing next to it? I agree someone should call Hunter College and ask some questions. Think maybe I will tomorrow.

Here's a link to a photo of the Hunter Tau.

Is it possible that the SO Tau will fabricated on a much smaller scale?

Jim - the Tau is going to be 14' x 21'. I believe it's the same size as the Hunter Tau.
