There's a thread on newarkspeaks.com which discusses what appears to be a fairly reliable piece of intelligence that the Bloods are going to attempt to take Cory Booker's life. I'm sure that some MOLers are familiar with newarkspeaks. It is fairly reliable.

And this effects life in South Orange how? Regardless of what happens in Newark, the County and Newark will continue to bleed the taxpayers of the suburban towns...What happens in Newark should stay in Newark! |

That's the kind of attitude that is all over this town...and lemme' tell ya it sucks. O&G it's people like you that are so worried about crime in SO that you believe stems from Newark...but when the time comes to rise up and help NEwark and do something about it...you say it's not your problem. This is a threat to interrupt an election, and kill a candidate.
The feds should be on this, along with county sheriff, local police, wiretaps, (legal and otherwise), snitches being leaned on, serious surveillance, and the like.
There probably is a joint task force, secretly doing what they do.
I hope and pray I am correct.

And are the police and FBI supposed to determine if its a farce or not by allowing the assassins to make the first attempt, Hommel?

These type of threats are common place in Newark. The Booker team has been threatened more times than they can count. Walk Street Fight and you will see the reality. This time around Booker is going to win by a landslide and the power structure is rattled.
Booker will be fine and will make a great mayor. |

That's what the Bloods are concerned about. Whether the threat is credible or not, people on newarkspeaks acknowledge the situation is bad enough that it even can be discussed. All one has to do is read the posts in the link to realize how pervasive the gang situation is and the complete despair on the part of even the posters on newarkspeaks that things are completely out of control under the present administration. Good luck Cory and good luck Newark. |

I was commenting on the source, not how law enforcement should approach it.
Look at the source - a web posting of an anonymous individual who joined last month and has 7 total posts (some strange posts as well). Is he trustworthy? Is newarkspeaks trustworthy? If this guy really had inside information, why would he be sharing it? Wouldn't that compromise the investigation?

Actually, I have been (and continue to be) a Booker supporter since I started working here in 2002.
I question intel more after the farce in Iraq.
