Mr. Rosner; can you explain where the mulch goes and do we get some of the profits from the selling of it. Also please explain why the town doesn't put the Alum can collector next to the space next to the plastic bin so that the cans can be put into it, for the Saint Barnbas Burn Center and the monies that the South Orange Fire Department can send the money to this cause. |

Does the fire dept still collect cans for the burn unit? I have a couple dozen Sprite Zero cans to donate. |

JTA: They are still collecting the cans as the collector bin is at the public works garage due to the construction of the fire house |

Rastro: The village brings in some large trucks in to haul away much of the mulch, it is then sent away and put into bags to be sold to the consumers |

I'm suprized. The mulch really isn't clean enough to be sold. As least that is what I thought. Could be wrong. |

Buddybak: that's not my understanding. I go and get mulch when I want it and it's free at the recycling center. I also understand you can schedule a drop off at your home if you would like a lot of it. That's what we were told last summer, at least. Do you know that they have changed their policy? Also, I believe the parks around town use some of the mulch... |

A few years ago, I requested a delivery of a few yards of the free mulch. It certainly was not of the quality of the stuff you buy as there were many twigs, rocks and even a bit of paper mixed in. It was free, but ultimately did not look particularly nice, unfortunately. |
