Compare SO's Congress.org listing
http://www.congress.org/congressorg/officials/locality/?entity_id=5500&state=NJ

with Maplewood's
http://www.congress.org/congressorg/officials/locality/?entity_id=5498&state=NJ

Everything is filtered through one person? Not a democracy.

Anyone see the article in yesterday's Star Ledger about the Administrator in Montclair:

http://www.nj.com/news/ledger/essex/index.ssf?/base/news-2/1146545405102330.xml& coll=1

Apparently, they took away his housing allowance, he doesn't have a paid car and makes only $130k in a town with almost twice the population of South Orange.

There was also a pretty stinging Editorial in the News Record last week about Mr. Gross: http://www.localsource.com/articles/2006/05/03/news_-_record/news/opinion/doc445 02be3e520d663305134.txt

We understand that, in the grand scheme of things, addressing questions about roadwork probably isn’t highly ranked on Gross’s list of things to do.

Higher up on the list is covering up problems and lying for liars.

Interesting, in case you South Orangites haven't figured it out you have the "City Manager" form of government, without amending the charter.
