The full schedule will be announced the first weekend in May. Did you see THE BOSS will be playing two shows at the Garden State Arts Center? I'm planning to see Styx / Foreigner and Def Lepord / Journey. If there is an interest, I might be able to have my arm twisted to see Bruce. But, considering I didn't like his last show I went to, I think my arm would have to be twisted really hard. |

Lucy, PNC Bank Arts Center in Holmdel used to be called the Garden State Arts Center before they sold out to corporate sponsorship. (Like the Brendan Byrne Arena, before it became the Continental Airlines Arena) |

I'm glad to see former Maplewoodian Charlap is doing his part in supporting this potentially great center. Let's do our part and go to these shows. |

The Bad Plus is a great modern jazz band. They do great covers, including Blondie's "Heart of Glass" and Nirvana's "Smells Like Team Spirit." They show up on NPR every so often. |

Pizzaz, According to the SOPAC website: Where is it located? The SOPAC complex is conveniently located at 1 Trenchard Place, behind the South Orange NJ Transit train platform, and the shops on Sloan Street. I wonder why it doesn't say behind BUNNY'S, which is a much more well known landmark. |

MHD, don't you realize that Bunny's isn't part of Bill Calabrese's vision? It's his and his alone and, God bless us - every one! - he's been re-elected term after term. I hate to think of what could happen to this, as you say, landmark business in South Orange should his "plan" be adopted by the next Village President. May I be (perhaps) the first to say that if this village elects Arthur Taylor OR Mark Rosner as village president, kiss your dreams goodbye. Taylor is an obvious supporter of Bill Calabrese as was Mark Rosner the only time he faced an election. I would vote for his re-election as trustee. I do not think he should be president. I know I'm preaching to an empty ashtray here, but I would not fully trust Mark Rosner. It's been convenient for him to dissent all of the sudden. He used to blissfully support whatever and had some unkind words for Church Street residents that didn't want to be evicted. That un-endeared him, but I still treat him with the same respect I offer every other human being on earth. Unlike most of the people who are our elected Bosses (as trustees). |

This is a genuine question, and if it has a obvious answer then let me know.. Is SOPAC anyway attached (wall to wall) with the railroad? Whether it is or isn't, the railroad makes a pretty large rumble when it goes on through. Have the walls been soundproofed etc? I can't imagine any music lover or theater goer is going to appreciate vibrations or noise interrupting the performances. As said, a genuine question - can anyone answer for me? |

It is not attached, and the movie theatres offer a sound barrier to the performing arts stage. The stage area is closest to Trenchard Place. BTW: The facility is pretty well insulated from my personal observations. |

Thanks Pizzaz. I hadn't given it a thought until I was at cold stone with the kids yesterday and a train went through. Both asked me to get the trains to be quiet... (kids - always state the obvious but rarely offer a solution!!!!) |

We will have only a few bookings because we must run a several hundred thousand dollars a year deficit, according to the BOT's vision. The vision is clear. jd |
