Yes, I called you flyingspaghettidork.

And being a friend of the moderator does nothing. Both of them have banned many people that they know.

I guess that you just have no idea what you are talking about.

Citizen vs. Supporter

What is the difference between a poster labeled "Citizen" and one labeled "Supporter" over their usernames here on the left hand column? Are the supporters just friends of David and Jaime, or are they financial contributors?

If I know where to send my check I would like to become a "SUPPORTER" so I can right whatever sh-t I want without being banned by the moderator.

Can somebody explain that?

Supporters don't get formatting errors, I think.

Actually, the by now somewhat mysterious "supporter" title resulted from good people who contributed a few bucks (some a lot more, as in the case of Strawberry and Tom Kerns) to help MOL fight a frivolous lawsuit (successfully, thanks to MOLer/attorney Peter Shelton). It doesn't affect decisions regarding temporary bans. Most people posting here I've met and don't think any of them are racists or corrupt or tax cheats or bad cooks or jaywalkers or anything like that.

Next person who posts something mean will appear with John Cleese in a Silly Walk photo.

Mayor..thanks for posting the defination of minion. I was woried that Pizzaz's followers wouldn't know what it meant.

Calling someone a follower is a personal attack I guess, much, much worse than(or in the mind of the moderator at least equivalant to) calling them a prick!

You would rather have your sensationalism and your idiotic rantings.

Sensationalism? Idiotic rantings?

I see your TRUE self is coming out. I also see you choose to look the other way.

However, I do appreciate others on this board, regardless of color, that can see the ignorance in this Pizzaz. Like someone pointed out before, “based on some of his comments in the past, why is anyone surprised by his new comments?”

Seems like Pizzaz has a REPUTATION for making outlandished and ignorant comments!

It’s sad when folks choose to sweep ignorance under the rug. Again, I don’t care what you call the salon, (afro, Black, AA) but when you begin labeling them with drugs…that’s a problem!

Should we label every Italian restaurant as mob runned, or, any ethnic restaurant with a stereotypical view? A legitimate business, just like Bunny’s trying to make a buck is hurt by Pizzaz insinuating “a drug deal gone bad?” Says a lot about his bias thinking eh?

Pizzaz's minions can post all they want to try and defend his outrageous and profane statement but it ain't gonna help, especially while it remains online for all to see.

Yes they can continue to support him. That's their right. However, there are plenty of pizza places between here and Maplewood that I can enjoy and will get my financial support!!!

There's a gang murder in town and everyone's up in arms about how someone described a business establishment? I'm all for being PC, but let's not lose sight of what happened and let's ask some questions about the business practices at these stores.

Question: what do each of you do for business?
Answer1: I sell pizza.
Answer2: I cut hair.
Answer3: I sell chicken
Question: What are your business practices?
Answer1: Someone comes into the store and asks for a slice, I sell it to them
Answer2: Someone comes into the store and asks for a haircut, I cut their hair.
Answer3: Someone comes into the store and asks for a hot wing, I sell them a hot wing.

What business practices are you refering to Stevef. If you read the Ledger account you will find that the murder has nothing to do with the businesses or business practices of these stores with the exception that the victim wanted a haircut and a hot wing. The murderer found the victim and shot him.

Unfortunate case closed. Why are these businesses being put under any scrutiny.

Steve F this thread is not about the shooting but about not accepting Pizzaz's apology.
This is far from over. I overheard people in the bagels abroad talking about it this morning.
And what is also unbelievable is PIZZAZ says these businesses should not be allowed to be open at 1 and 3 in the morning...Does he realize this happened in the late afternoon!!! What is his point?????? This could have happened anywhere in town. It has absolutely nothing to do with the salon or any business.

I had a long comment made out to help put some of you in your place, but I deleted it. It is obvious that some of you have personal things going on which force you jump all over Pizzaz whenever he says anything, so it's really not worth it. This thread has already jumped from outrage over his comments to outrage over his views of business hours. It is pretty obvious that people posting here just have an agenda.

This isn't worth my time.

WRONG!!!

Before his statements, I had NOTHING against Pizzaz. I had no reason and when I started posting here some time ago, I even defended this guy. There were negative things said about Bunny's restaurant that I defended. We supported the establishment for years that we've been living in SO. His comments caught me out of "left field!"

I guess I have not read ALL of the negative comments of Pizzaz other posters have alluded to. But before his comments, I had nothing against the guy.

Instead of making false accusations, why don't you try going and talking to him. Or try sending him a PM.

Mc Cheese this is a very bad situation. It is a situation that will continue to build in momentum as more and more people become aware of it. People here do not have an agenda. People here take offense that someone tells an African American woman to kiss his WHITE A**!!! People here take offense to a statement that "was it a robbery at the liquor store or a bad drug deal that took its business to the afro hair salon."
McCheese do you get it now?
McCheese you say he is a nice person? Do nice people tell a African American Woman to kiss their WHITE A**? And the reference he made for the KISSING OF HIS WHITE A** is unbelievable also. Telling Jennings if this is the changing demographics you are referring to then you can certainty kiss my white a**?
Hardly a nice person. And to make it even worse he puts it in writing! I hope children do not read his quotes!!!

I know that this thread is about Pizzaz, but let me just note that

A) The two banners I posted were both yanked by a moderator (in what I consider a laughable example of PC-run-amuck) long before the vast majority of MOLers (except, of course, for MHD, who, for some reason, makes a beeline (!) for my every post) had a chance to see 'em. Yet Pizzaz' comments -- IMHO far more directly offensive, were not deleted. And

2) I usually say "I just post 'em, I don't explain 'em", but here I need to set a couple of things straight: HOME OF THE NEW UPSCALE PIZZA CROWD" with Aunt Jemima as the absurdist guest star might have instantly upset those who weren't paying attention to the debate in the thread, and maybe they also missed my introductory remark to Lizziecat. Whatever, they clearly missed the intended commentary of the banner: That Pizza'z take on the New Demographic, as well as his style of communicating that take, seems firmly planted in disrespect and prejudice, more appropriate to the days when Jemima was one of the only black images many white people would embrace.

Whether or not he's bigoted (& I doubt that he really thinks he is) isn't my call, though, so: my second banner (same text, but starring Terriane) was more direct in its connection of Terriane to Pizzaz' incredibly ham-handed attack on her. It was also censored. (again, not my call...)

BTW, regarding Terriane: I'm not thrilled with her communication style either, and I wish that both she and Mr. Pogany would consider a course in Nuance.

That said, I'll state for the record that if anyone was truly offended by either of my two deleted posts, I apologize to them. The banners were intended (and I think well-executed, too, btw) as humorous political commentary directed primarily (as is so often the case with me, don't you find?) at Pizzaz.

...But: on the off-chance that you simply registered a typical knee-jerk reaction to a racially stereotyped fictional character, and in so doing missed the banner's point entirely, don't worry. I forgive you.

Let's all be friends.

-s.

BTW, my offer still stands: PL me with your email address, and I'll have the Oracle send you copies (I erased the originals myself... oops) of one or both banners. I'm outta here.

Phenixrising-I totally understand your feelings on his comments, they were offensive and bigoted. I never had an opinon on Pizzazz until he made those remarks, and it's not so much his statements, but his unwillingness to accept that they were not only offensive, but unwarranted and disgusting. As I said earlier, I remember his daughters friends and associates saying that he was racist, or prejudice. There's something to be said about your own kid's friends making those observations.

Actually, Soda, I remember reading someplace that the original Aunt Jemima, upon whom the iconic portrait was based, was Caucasian. But that shouldn't matter. It is the spirit in which a thing is said that causes the offense. Sometimes it is the spirit in which a thing is heard or read that causes the offense. We should all try to be more civil.
