Where do you come off making such a racist comment! Children in the surrounding areas of South Orange learn CRIME as a way of life? What is that? |

Nice try Jeep but don't stoop so low. If you read the comments correctly (not in the context you care to) you will see that I said the following:
That SO was surrounded by depressed areas and it was UNFORTUNATE many of the children in these areas (implied - who fall into crime) see it as a way of life (implied by example). I went on to say that it could be debated as to which is at fault (parenting, education, etc....) -NOT COLOR!
IT IS MY OPINION THAT IT IS YOU -JEEP, WHO IS THE RACIST. INSTEAD OF QUOTING ONLY SNIPPETS OF MY QUOTE, WHY NOT PUT EVERYTHING? THEN YOU WILL SEE I NEVER MENTIONED RACE, CREED, RELIGION ... AND SO ON. PERHAPS THE CONCLUSION YOU CAME TO IS ACTUALLY YOUR OWN MISFORGIVINGS AND INTOLERANCE?
I would point you to the post by Shanabana which reads that it is about class not anything else. Class does not discriminate (as you seem to think by calling me a racist).
And speaking of class, why don't you try and get some? Maybe you would avoid slandering people.

hey jeep what isn't racist to you.have you driven through newark and east orange lately? it's depressing!! my favorite movie is "white chicks" i wonder when "black chicks"is coming out, we can watch it together and make sarcastic comments. |

Jeep -- I think you took Sean's post too literally. Please realize that the main intent behind it was to explain why moving Campus Sub back to South Orange would be a losing venture. Speaking of which...... 9 month since he announced here that he was searching for a place......

Erin,
Thanks for clearing that up. You seem to have a real grip on the situation. So tongue and cheek. So clever.
I would supect if you have ever own and/or operated a personal business, you'd understand the dynamics of profits and loss. As well, I would respect the opinion of someone who actually knows the retail real estate market -not only in SO but also surrounding areas. You see all of the empty storefronts? Perhaps potential business owners see the only ones who can make money (at the very high rates) are the landlords?
For what's it's worth, we own and operate another store. We are fortunate enough to be doing quite well. Coming back to SO is a novel idea for a few reasons but not at the sake of overpaying. If the deal is right, we'd do it. If not, our loss -not yours.
I also think this thread grew from someone being murdered so perhaps it's not the right time and/or place. |

Honestly there isn't even an ability to address issues like this because ultra liberals cry racism. There is plenty of reverse racism on this board that gets overlooked.
There is a point when crying racist is racist in its own way. It is a poor excuse and doesn't help any discussions.
Calling sean out for making a statement regarding the "product of your environment" is pretty weak. Its a sound theory on behavior in sociology.
I am not one to get involved in racial disputes, but this was clearly motivated out of some other beef with Sean Flood. Too many people on this board get their feelings hurt to easily, or scream racism when something doesn't fit into their point of view. Then they start crying for Banning of posters and removal of posts. Its a written opinion, get over it. Grow up, if you can't see what happened to Vailsburg, East Orange, Irvington over the past 30 years your truly out of touch, Its been down hill for 30 years, and I don't see the renaissance that Sharp James Claims to have started? |

Now that I think about it, you are right Old and Gray....... This is not the time nor the place.
Sorry Sean. You are certainly not a racist and I did not mean to imply that by adding to this thread. I do think though that you have reservation about moving back to SO. And some day -- when the race issue settles down here -- we can discuss those reservation. |

why can't he move his buisness where ever the f he wants! what effect does it have on any of you? whether it's based on race,religion,sex or location or whatever, why are you all taking it so personally? after all isn't that his right. i know iknow you would never burn a flag, but you would die defending it.doesn't that suck? |
