Anyone know what is going on on Vose Avenue, between SO Ave and the PO? The police were ticketing the few cars which had actually parked in front of the NO PARKING SIGNS attached to the meters and the ' fence/mural. Will the town be paving soon? Is that why the no parking signs are there? thanks! |

Very Funny.. I think it has to do with Scotland being closed for road repair and Vose being part of the detour. |

Downtown was an utter mess today. No parking possibly anywhere near the post office. No turns onto Scotland near Village Hall. Ridiculous! |

To add to the traffic mess, the police were also conducting seatbelt checks down by the bridge on both sides of South Orange Ave. from about 8am-10am this morning. |

Speaking of Vose Avenue, between the PO and SOA - the village really needs to construct safe pedestrian egress before somebody gets hurt and the town is successfully sued. Seriously. |

The no parking signs or the click-it or ticket program? Don't leave us hanging like that, JB! |

Bets Is there any chance the click-it or ticket check point will be on Vose tomorrow? Considering the traffic is being sent around Scotland the police might think they would catch a lot of people? So far in less then a week I've seen checks being doen in two different places on two different days. My sister just told me she's seen several towns doing this. Do you happen to know if the departments got grants for this for a certain timeframe? |

Either construction that requires no parking. PROGRESS. Or click-it or ticket: Government generating non-tax income. PROGRESS. J.B. Sorry, my "caps lock" is acting up tonight. |

Heh. MINE TOO! HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!! I SAW TOM REINGOLD TODAY. HAHAHAHHAHAHAHARRAHSHHAAHAHA ( love you, noglider!). JTA, I have no idea. I was told it was going to happen, and I've heard about random police blockades, but I have no eye-deer what the schedule is. Tip o'the Day: wear your seatbelt and get your car inspected. |

I had no idea what was going on, i turned from Mead onto Vose to go to the post ofice with 3 cranky kids in the car and whoops, no parking, only paper signs saying no parking. I parked pretty far away and trying to control the 3 terrors was no fun. A friend was stuck in traffic where people were losing their cool over the parking and she was fit to be tied when she got here. Was anything mentioned ahead of time about the no parking areas? I didn't see or hear anything, but that doesn't mean it wasn't put out there, only that I didn't see it. I would still have had to go to the PO. but at least I would have known ahead of time. Any idea how long this is going to carry on? |

There have been notices posted in the Library for a while warning of the repair/resurfacing work that was going to be started about May 30th on Scotland Road. The notice indicated that the project should last about 10 weeks. My guess is that the are going to work from S.O. Ave towards Randolph Place, opening and closing streets to parking as they progress. The result will be a nicely paved, depotholed Scotland Road. Obviously, patience will be needed. |

So Parents, actually, there was a water main break on Scotland Road which is why it was shut down from South Orange Avenue to Ralston Avenue. They were working on that all day long. The Scotland traffic for the most part was diverted to Vose which is why the Emergency No Parking Signs were placed. Vose is a fairly narrow road to handle that much traffic. Things were further snafu'd during the morning rush by a fairly bad motor vehicle accident at Prospect Street and the Avenue. Hopefully things will be running much smoother today. Sorry you got caught up in it all with your kids. |

They are drilling right now outside the Library so Scotland still is a mess. The signs do say that they are going to be resurfacing the street starting 5/30 or so so if it is a water main break, good thing it happened before they repaved and not after. |

Hey, the "trouble" in the car gave me an excuse to drag the kids to Dunkin Donuts for "Mummy to get a coffee".....!!!!!! (They got milkshakes and a donut so they weren't complaining) Whether it be emergency roadworks, water main breaks, or maintenance work it has to get done and at the end of the day, I will always end up where I was going - maybe just a tad later and with coffee in hand!!!!! |
