my wife had lunch with a new friend she made who grew up and still lives in south orange. apparently her dad works with cops (in what capacity i don't know) and told her recently there was a gang-related shootout in the montrose area. anyone have any more info? thanks. |

if it's the same shooting that occured a couple of weeks ago,i wouldn't say "montrose section". it was near the montrose area,and the mafia has been part of s.o. for a long time in terms of owning homes in the past (possibly present). |

It was on South Orange avenue, and wasn't exactly a "shootout."
But, as a rule, anything heard second hand from someone who lives in Short Hills is probably more reliable than what they print in the "newspaper," so I'd stick with your story.

Don't want to start a new thread so I'll tack onto this that the Star-Ledger reported today that the suspect in this shooting was captured today in Virginia. It's not online so I can't provide a link but it was in the New jersey section. |
