Beautiful gift items -- we've done various housewarming gifts etc. from there.

How are their prices? do you know what hours they are open?

(I saw the store the other day but didn't get a chance to go in)

Did anyone notice the beautiful picture of the NYC skyline taken from Liberty State Park by Tim McNanny of Maplewood. It shows the WTC and the surrounding buildings in considerable detail. Very lovely. Smaller scale sizes are available I'm told. The one I mention takes up the entire display window on the right as you enter the store. Awesome picture!

The prices are what you would expect from a nice boutique gift shop. Great stuff, friendly help and a beautiful looking store. I bought a business card holder from there just b/c it was the most unique one I have ever seen.

I love this store - bought a knitted blanked for our new great-neice. I think the prices are quite resonable and the selections unique. It's a fine addition to our struggling village - go in and thank the owner for having faith!

A friend had told me how wonderful it was, so in I went with one of my girls - what a lovely place. There is nothing "chain store" about it, you can see that the owner has hand selected everything. We bought a kitty cat alarm clock for the little lady and I am so looking forward to going back in again and spend a bit more time mooching around.

Just what South Orange needs, and i'm glad she had the faith in our Village to open here.

Another great thing about the Orange Tree is the opportunities it give the members of JESPY House.

This is from the Gaslight right before the Orange Tree opened:

The Orange Tree at 10 West South Orange Avenue is a gift store selling the handcrafted items of artisans from across the country, predominantly New Jersey and the northeast. The store opened in late November.

Manager Nancy Boylan said the shop will be partially staffed by clients from JESPY House, a support service for people with developmental disabilities. JESPY will train its clients as a stepping stone to future long-term jobs in retail.

The Orange Tree is open daily except Sundays and Mondays.

I am not a shopper, let alone a household chotche type shopper but I really loved that store and bought a lovely sculpture there, quite reasonably priced too.

Is this the same store that was in Maplewood about 8 years ago?
In the space now housing the Art Store?

No, a new store. Newly opened since December 2005 by Jespy House.
