There is a pile of police cars/and flashing suv's and at least one fire engine parked across Irvington Avenue...they've been there for at least an hour or more... First they were at the next intersection past the Cleanway carwash... Anyone know what's going on? I'd hate to think that something similar to what happened at Fairview and South Orange Ave has occurred again. I was hoping it wasn't a fire, but I don't see smoke. The sirens keep coming by...

The area has changed over the years. One needs to protect oneself from bad guys, and maybe bears. But one not need be afraid of the bears-- maybe they will go after the bad guys.pic

Evidently there was a shooting at the pizza parlor near Ward Place.

This is sick!

Nero fiddled while Rome burned.

South Orange buys sculptures it can't afford.

Spitz: There was no shooting near Ward Police (according to the police chief).
No guess as to why someone would post something so stupid.

Thanks Mark. I was going to ask you if you could confirm. It seemed as if it had been a long time between the original post and today's post.

Mark, not to pick, but your post doesn't say what happened. Instead of a shooting was it a knive fight? :-)

Bob K: Absolutely nothing happened (at least along those lines).

Spitz: Bajou posted about the power lines being hit. I left it alone at that. Tuxedo's post was earlier today and figured I should respond to that.

Not to stir things up, but I've noticed that the workers at Cleanway Car Wash now take the keys out of the ignition and put them in their pocket while the car is sitting out getting dried off. I'm guessing it's to prevent carjackings.

That's what the SOPD told me when I called and my neighbors there corroborated that. MRosner, I was disseminating information about what I heard. Be nice.

Sounds like a prudent move by Cleanway, and cuts down on emissions too.
