This article says over the past ten yesy body parts have been found five times times in the Res. (they only mentione 4 though) Body parts found in trash bags identified Brooklyn man's remains discovered on reservation Thursday, June 08, 2006 BY KASI ADDISON Star-Ledger Staff Body parts found stuffed inside garbage bags on South Mountain Reservation earlier this year have been identified as belonging to a 35-year-old Brooklyn man. Viktor Alekseyeva lived along Neptune Avenue in the Coney Island section of the borough, said Paul Loriquet, a spokesman for the Essex County Prosecutor's Office. His mutilated body was identi fied through DNA testing. Shortly after the grisly January discovery, the man's remains -- legs, arms and thighs -- were transported to the State Police Technology Complex in Hamilton to be analyzed by a forensic anthropologist. About the same time, a concerned friend of Alekseyeva saw news reports and contacted the prosecutor's office, Loriquet said. "They thought they might know the individual and agreed to provide personal items, a hair brush, a toothbrush, which we tested," he said. There wasn't a match. However, the same friend also knew how to get in contact with the victim's mother, Tamara Alek seyeva of Chelny, Russia. She provided a saliva sample through a cheek swab. "It matched," Loriquet said. While authorities know Alek seyeva's identity and that he lived and worked in Brooklyn, they are still investigating the case, Loriquet said. Alekseyeva's remains were found by an Essex County sheriff's officer on an afternoon patrol near South Orange Avenue and Glen view Road in Maplewood. When the officer tried to move a bag of what he thought was dumped garbage to a trash can, he discovered the bag contained a human leg. Eventually arms, legs and thighs were found in four separate garbage bags in the same vicinity. No hands, feet, torso or other body parts were recovered. The discovery marked the fifth time in a decade that a body or body parts were found on the reservation. In 1995 a woman strolling along a path on the reservation came across two suitcases just off the walkway. Stuffed inside were two dismembered bodies, a male and female, each missing the head, hands and feet. Days later the man's head and right foot, and the woman's left foot washed onto a beach in Brooklyn's Dead Horse Bay. The pair were later identified as 36-year-old Fakhat Dkerov and his girlfriend, 28-year-old Larisa Jakov leva, of New York. Six years later, a man walking his dog near Bear Lane found two suitcases containing the badly de composed body of a woman, later identified as Brenda Miller, 34, of Brooklyn. Those cases, which are being investigated jointly by the Essex County Prosecutor's Office and New York City Police, remain un solved. In 2002, police found a body in the back seat of a burned-out 1985 Mercury near the Shady Nook Sec tion of the park but said it didn't appear the death was a homicide. I count 5 bodies, but 4 instances -- 2 bodies in 1995; 1 in 2001 in a suitcase; 1 in 2002 in burned out car; and 1 in 2006.

It's the Russian Mob dumping everything but necks in our neck of the woods. Old news in Europe: The italian mob likes to dump in Water, the russian mob prefers the woods. Russia has very active scavengers like foxes, wolves, wolverines, even bears will become scavengers when necessary and Russia has enourmous woods so bodies are rarely discovered. And Italy (especially Sicily being it is an island) has nothing but water and very little wooded areas. So these guys are basically "traditional" people. |

Most gangsters in America were present in the late 19th and throughout the 20th centuries. Due to America's multi-racial culture, there are large varieties of gangs. Generally, the most identifiable gang in America is one which originated from the island of Sicily off the southern tip of Italy. La Cosa Nostra, or Mafia, is composed primarily of Italian-Americans, and has had a major cultural impact in the United States, especially in Chicago and New York, where it is still the most powerful group of organized crime figures. The Mafia came to America in a pre-WWII 20th century America and thrived due to the Prohibition period and with its hands in the illegal alcohol trade. It was during this time that the Italian Mafia struggled with the already established Irish-American criminal organizations for control of the American criminal trade. During WWII, many mobsters (also called Mafiosos) in Italy came to America to escape Mussolini's fascist regime. Cultural impact Recently, an ebonics form of the word, "gangsta", has become associated with gangsta rap. This genre's lyrics are often based on living gang-related lifestyles, and can be portrayed in either a realistic, gritty way, or in a cartoonish way. Common street gangster members also call themselves "gangsters" or "G". Being "Gangsta" can also be synonymous for being "willing to do whatever it takes to get something done", or being "ruthless" or "cut-throat". In modern-day America, especially among the black communities, gangsta refers to a friend or associate in African American Vernacular English, especially in reference to a person with a reputable street credability. Such individuals are often referred to as a "G". This may have been popularized by a number of successful rap artists who used the letter as part of their monikers, beginning in 1979 with the Master Gee of the Sugar Hill Gang. There are different ranks for "G". There is, "Young G", "G", "Ol' G", "Triple Ol' G", etc. To obtain a higher rank you need to increase your street cred. Normally, to increase street cred one must be involved in numerous criminal activites.
