Hi, I just wanted to ask if anyone knew of a "Stitch and Bitch" type knitting group that meets regularly in South Orange or Maplewood. Or would anybody be interested if I started one for knitters of all levels? We could meet at the Dancing Goat once a week.

Sounds like a great idea. Let me know if you organize something.

Doulamomma - Do you know if the Mothers & More group is only restricted to members? Also, do you know any more details.

Also Kim and FrannyFree - what days and times during the week would work for you guys. I'm asking around to see what might be a time that suits most ppl. Also, do you have any feedback on the format of the group, any other suggestions, ideas, etc?

Thanks for all your comments folks!

Vineeta,
it's considered a M&M event, so for the most part yes (restricted), but I think you're free to chack out an event or two before joining...I believe it usually meets on a week night at someone's home & is open to all M&M needlers (if that's a word).

Cool, thanks for the info. Given I'm not a mom, joining M&M for the knitting group will probably not make sense for me. But thanks for your feedback anyway.

I'd be interested in a group that meets at the Goat.

When were you thinking?

Vineeta,
Yes - that would be silly indeed - hope you can check out the Sat. AM one at Pen & Jen's...one at the Goat sounds great too.

Hi Ladies, Just wanted to update you. There were so many responses here and also under the "Please Help" section where I also posted, that I called the Dancing Goat so see if we would meet there (they need to know if it's going to be around 10 ppl).

It seems that they have something going on every night of the week. On Wednesdays they have "open mic night" starting at 8pm, so we'd have to be done before that, ie, 5.30-7.30 pm. That seems to be the only weekday option. If most of you are okay with this, then I'll go ahead and confirm with them. If not, Winniegirl and I can research some other places for a weekday group (I'd love to come to PJs too, but weekends are usually occupied).

So please post in your reponses and let me know! Thanks!
