CEll Phone Do Not Call

JUST A REMINDER....8 days from today, all cell phone numbers are being released to telemarketing companies and you will start to receive sale calls. YOU WILL BE CHARGED FOR THESE CALLS.... To prevent this, call the following number from your cell phone:

888-382-1222. It is the National DO NOT CALL list. It will only
take a minute of your time.

It blocks your number for five (5) years

This is an urban legend. The FCC does not have a no call list for cell phones.

Another good list to be on:

The national credit bureaus offer a toll-free number that enables consumers to opt-out of all pre-approved credit offers with just one phone call. Call 1-888-5-OPTOUT (1-888-567-8688) for more information.

Marketing companies do not have access to your private cell phone numbers. They are not going to be "released"--only if you have given your cell phone out will you get a call.

E.g. You're not going to be getting calls on your cell phone from Ned Stevens gutter cleaning, per se.

Yes, you may use the 888# to remove your name from the DMA so that you don't get calls on your land line, catalogs, etc. and the other number is for credit offers.

Both handy and relevant numbers, though.
