Hi, Does anyone know when the pool is going to be open? (if it isn't already) and if we can go get our passes for this year? Thanks! |

Geri, the pool opens this weekend, closes during the week and reopens next weekend for 7 days a week. Go get your pool badges asap at the Baird. Each family member, no matter how young, must get a badge for $15. Bring 2 pieces of proof of residence (I think drivers licenses, registrations, utility bills, etc.) Call for exact requirements. 762-0359. |

Guest passes are for sale starting this Friday - $20 for 5 passes...must buy at Baird, not at pool. |

Does the pool have wireless? Can we post in our swimsuits? This must be addressed. J.B. |

Ha - I tried that once at the Maplewood pool (offline - don't know about wireless) - didn't count on the damn sun! Couldn't see the screen. |

Maybe we could talk to Andy about setting up a wireless station under the shelter so we could see our screens AND post! Check the Gaslight for two fun Library/Pool joint events in July and August. |

Hey Pete, Save a chair in the shadows of the new buildings on the beifus lot. I can't get too much sun.

Well, I'M feeling positive about the pool! (After all, I've got my new tankini--no wait--"skirtini"). See you at the pool this Sunday. Far from the Beifus lot, over by the kiddie pools. Maybe maybe I'll take the little ones to the the big pool (I've heard that it is heated--does anyone know if this is corret?) It's supposed to top 90 degrees tomorrow! |

Report from the pool (well, not acutally FROM the pool, but back at home): Freeman's food shack is very cute! There were more people in there working than in the pool. I made a mistake and left my daughter while i went to Baird center to sign up for swim lessons. It took FOREVER and she got worried. Why is it so painful to sign up for the lessons? Otherwise, we are all set now for summer fun! |

After swimming, we ate an early dinner at the pool - New England clam chowder, fish sticks (not the frozen kind), big salad with grilled chicken - inexpensive. Really good. Hooray Freeman's! |

That's a little extreme for pool food. What happened to greasy cheese fries, fun-dip, and a cherry coke? |

i am looking forward to being able to feed the little ones something edible and nutritious so I don't have to leave and then return. I think Freemans is a great choice. ARe there lobster rolls? |

Glock, Have not been yet, but last year at the maplewood pool there was all the normal stuff, including cheese fries & soda. Campbell, I believe there were lobster rolls last year - I'd imagine they will have them. Questions: Are little pool toys OK at the SO baby pool? Which pools (only the baby or the next one up, as is true for Maplewood) allow swim diapers? |

yes, greasy food stuff still there. Lil' quilter has eaten 3 grilled cheese sandwiches already. Yes, toys in baby pool. swim diapers everywhere if not potty trained (all pools allow babies, at least in practice). hey doulamomma, saw some of your friends there already today! campbell was coming as i was going. i guess that goes under MOL face offs or whatever that other thread is! |

I'm just waiting for the little tyke to wake up, then we're back again (went yesterday). The Freeman's place looks great. BTW, yesterday I thought I heard construction (which should please some of you SOers). Can't say where the din was originating from tho... |

More info coming soon, but I (through the South Orange Library) am going to be hosting a film discussion (CRASH) at the South Orange Pool on Tuesday, July 25th at 6:00pm. Childrens Services of the South Orange Library will be doing Story Time so those with kids 4 and up (I think it's 4) can let the kids have fun while the adults have some intellectual stimulation. Freeman's will be available for dinner or bring your own. Look for a poster at the POOL and the Library. Hope to see lots of MOLers there.

CQ - I don't we qualify for run-in's anymore, as we see each other practically every day!! Lil Quilter and Lil Campbell had lots of fun together. Baby Campbell even went in for a dip. There was a lobster roll, but I didn't get one. |

Suzanne- With a 'guest badge?' I'm sure if Nancy spoke to Paul, if he is the manager again this year, he'll work something out where guest badges don't have to be used. |

Hi Helen, This might sound silly, but as great as your menu looks to me, my daughter was disappointed when I had to explain to her that we couldn't get a peanut butter and jelly sandwich at your S.O. Pool stand. I'm not exactly asking for PB&J's on the menu, but perhaps some items that would appeal more to the preschool crowd (who are heavily represented at the S.O. Pool). I confess I don't remember exactly what all was on the menu anymore. Do you have it posted online somewhere? Thanks! |
