I am not involved in any type of political activity in this town; however, I just deceided to listen to the tape of the BOT because of the TAU issue. I have never attended a town hall meeting which is probably something I should be ashamed of. I was recently named "Villager of the Month" and that was the first time I had any part in the meetings.
During the 06/26/06 meeting there was a statement made by a BOT member which I find extremely offensive. It was directed at "Bunny's" and the BOT member (Bill Calabrese) was totally out of place. Bunny's is a very successful business in this town and has been a welcoming place to people from all walks of life. It has been around longer then any other business I am aware of. This deserves some respect from the BOT. I would think that the BOT should be grateful to any business that has the longevity, stamina, and family orientation, which Bunny's has exhibited for over 70 years. Frankly the BOT should come down to Bunny's a couple of nights a week and get a lesson on how to make things work. As a customer of Bunny's I find it very upsetting to hear such slanderous and derogatory remarks being made during a 'supposedly' professional town hall meeting. Mr. Calabrese you are a proprietor of your own business and as such should know better!

A resignation is required. The good folks at Bunny's don't deserve the crap that took place the other evening.

Please work next spring to elect trustees and a village president you don't have to be ashamed of. Ask everyone you know to register to vote, talk to your neighbors, go door to door, even for one or two blocks, with literature of viable alternatives to the present BOT. We are all hurt by the town's poor leadership. |
