I would post this under Please Help, but nobody ever goes on that thread. I wish soooooooooo badly to quit smoking. To that end, I have heard that hypnosis is a pretty effective method. I have looked around and cannot find anything that does not seem A) Not Seedy and Tarrot Card like B)Nearby If anyone knows of anything please help. |

Matt, try the American Cancer Society. They have a very effective 20 day program. It worked for me 25 years ago and it can work for you. Basically you ween yourself off the smokes by smoking less and changing brands from your regular brand to ones lower and lower in nicotine. I dont believe in hypnosis. Take a trip to St. Barnabas and visit a cancer ward. It might help your motivation. |

I totally support hypnosis to quit smoking. I know, because it worked for me and I wasn't even trying. Someone in the office wanted hypnosis to lose weight, and it was cheaper if four people were hypnotized in the same visit, so I went along with it. I quit smoking even though at the time I really did not want to. It is amazing, and, no, you are not "put to sleep." That was in 1988. |

I used "Smoke Enders" in 1974. Then they had meetings, but I think they have something on-line now. Matt, I would be pleased to be your "Smoke Enders" coach. We all had one to turn to in times of support. It is a nine week course and you gradually change the habits that are included in the habit. I.E. no lighters, change the hand you smoke with, gradually increasing the time between cigarettes, many other small changes that allow you at 5 weeks to stop. I smoked 2 packs a day, stopped on March 16, 1974 and know that even now if I take a cigarette I would probably go back. They say that nicotine is more habit forming than heroin. Let me help you. 973.761.1735 |

My hubby quit smoking using the patch. If you have tried that and it doesn't work try the online Quitnet. I have heard great stories from that as well. |

This sounds strange, but if you eat 1 or 2 cigs - you will never want to smoke one again. really. It works. Eat one. with no water. filter is up to you. you'll never smoke again.

No, you will just never eat a cigarette again. But I hear that it is a good way to lose weight. |
