I think the store that Quizno's was to occupy has a "for rent" sign. What caused the change of heart? Subway's? The prospect of a SID? Anyone have the story?

They were scared away by the thought that Sean might find the right place for Campus Sub some day.

Sean, most folk who post here have never experienced the true amazing customer service and quality of Campus. F 'em. Whenever you return to this area (Hack-town) too far for Foley, I will be at the door often.

The Brooklyn transplants, the "too good for Irvington Ave.ers", the anon pot shot artists herein could never understand that you fellas made the customer feel welcome always and loaded the sandwiches to a T!

So what's stopping him from coming back and continuing his fine level of service? No place to open in S.O.? Well, the Quizo's place is now available

Sean- I just wanted to relay my dad's disappointment that on his last visit to South Orange a few weeks ago he was not able to get one of your hot dogs. He had to settle for Jimmy Buffs. He didn't seem as saddened to see the Seton Hall barber gone, perpetuator of a bad comb over, though he went to HS with him and had his hair cut there from the 1960's by his father and by John (?) until my dad moved in the 90's. Do you know if John's mother is still around? I remember her being as full of energy as the second barber chair was full of crap, despite being nearly as old as the barber shop comic book collection. The convenient thing about Campus Sub being across from the barber, if the barber shop was mysteriously closed when it shouldn't have been you knew where the barber went.

extuscan,
Do not know if she is still around. I, too, had my hair cut at Seton Hall Barber Shop (I think everyone I knew did too). I'm not sure it was the grteatest cut but the gossip was always worth it. Ha!

Sorry about not being about to help out your Dad. Was trying to get back in town for a while but had to pretty much shelve the entire idea due to the birth of my 3rd child.

Still looking but more casually than before. Hopefully, things will work out for the best.

Kindest Regards.
