For those of you who don't as there was no notice until a few hours ago; Meeker will be closed between 8:30am and 4:30pm Tuesday due to work on the street. Something about paving. It would have been nice if those who live on the street were given more notice! My poor neighbor is supposed to have material delivered for redoing his floors tomorrow!

JTA,

Thanks---yes, pretty last minute announcing this---anyway looks like they got about 1/8th of the street completed today---basically one half of the park side section of Meeker---I talked to the paving guy and he claims we need the "microsurface" treatment (technical name for it) although I thought our street looked to be in pretty good shape---whatever---there are probably other streets in more dire need---I have heard of some pretty massive potholes on Scotland---perhaps those are fixed.

Steve-
Looks like it's going to be done tomorrow! I plan to park my car elsewhere tonight so I don't have to get up at 8am again! It figures the week I don't have to get up at 5:30am! Thought 'Great! I can sleep until 11am!' Yeah, right. I didn't mind so much today as I had breakfast plans.

Count your blessings, Newstead never even received a letter. Then, two weeks after the road was demo'ed we rec'd a letter - ("move your car before 7:00am, road closed for paving")after moving our cars, they never came!!!! Called the company for an update . . . they never called back!

Sounds like a company hire by our BOT.

Isn't it interesting that they are starting an entirely new section of town before paving roads that were demo'ed 6 weeks ago.

If I lived on Meeker I would baracade my street until I rec'd a timetable in writing.

happyman-
Well here it is 11:12am and no sign of anything being done on Meeker. Makes me a little annoyed as I parked my car elsewhere last night for nothing. Not to mention several of my neighbors, including my family, had work scheduled for yesterday that we scrambeld to have rescheduled.

Parts of Newstead are still a mess. At least the parts I've been in most days the past two plus weeks. It would be nice if our elected officals were as considerate of us as Maplewood's are of them. At least Maplewood uses the reverse 911 system to warn people of stuff like this.

On a happier note, at least we got a slight break in the weather! Hopefully we'll be at the pool later!

Happyman,

Gee, at least you got a letter, we didn't even get that. And what fun is it going up and down my driveway now!

Unfortunately, our car still bottoms out every time we go out our driveway!
