Princess - I heard your mom speak at last night's meeting - it clearly was very upsetting and difficult for her to personally and publicly call out our unprofessional Village President, but I and many, many others supported her when she was done.

Calabrese's sneered "apology" showed him for what he was and is - a clueless and inept buffoon.

I hope you and your family can put this ugliness behind you now and continue with great success in your family business where generations have enjoyed themselves!

I particularly liked his admission that he actually wouldn't know a thing about his allegation, since he only drinks Coke(?)

Don't worry -- none of us believe him on what he said about Bunny's, any more than we believe him on a number of other local issues.

That was very nicely said, Pdg. It took guts for Mrs. Pogany to stand up there and tell him (truthfully) that he basically accused her of a crime. And it was completely indecent of him to try shrugging her off and claiming he was talking to himself. WTF?

I just hope we can get these precious moments of the BOT out to the voters next spring so they can see exactly *what* is representing their interests.

Bets, you asked about the altercation between Jennings and Moore-Abrams. M-A asked J a few very specific questions about her secret meeting. J would not give her a straight answer but insisted on rambling on for a long time about why she called the meeting, etc., most of which was off point. M-A understandably grew impatient with her, at nearly 1 AM or whatever time it was by that time. Jennings has an annoying habit of wanting to "educate" people to her point of view while avoiding specific questions and topics asked of her or under discussion. She appears again and again unable to follow subjects under discussion in any but the most desultory ways. Given that she takes a lot of time in her detours during public meetings, with many people in attendance, she really should try to stay on point more than she does. It was worse last night because the BOT had already squandered so much time by allowing Arnedt and Wukitsch (sp?) to ramble on and on indefinitely, repeating themselves interminably, while others with far more to say were held to strict 3-minute limits. Much more to say about these two performances later, but under these circumcumstances, in the early morning, Jennings should have been trenchant in her responses to Moore-Abrams and should have answered her questions quickly and directly. She did not.

If their disagreement was censored and the video blocked by the town, someone should start bringing a video camera for their own taping and/or live podcast, video-streaming, etc., since the town's can no longer be relied upon to show the truth. How ridiculous. Let them arrest whoever tries to film it. They will be seen for what they are: inveterate propagandists and liers who cannot bear to have the truth available to residents and others. I'd love to see anyone try to arrest someone trying to film it. What a bunch of small-minded tyrants.

SOrising, that fight was on camera. The other one came at the end of the meeting. As people were walking out of the room the two of them (Stacy I believe was starting it, but I'm only 90%) seemed to be having heated words again. Seeing as the meeting had officially ended and people were leaving, an ending symbol came up blocking the screen and the sound was muted.

While at Costco and Target last night I priced cameras. I am willing to fork out the money if someone else is willing to record the meetings. I'm not sure but I thought there is a way regular people can connect a camera directly to a computer to enable people to see these live. The Village Hall does have wireless connection, correct? I saw some pretty decent cameras for a couple hundred dollars.

Pretty Princess & Leslie,

I don't want to open any wounds, but I think people should see the following clip of the outrageous way Calabrese acted AGAIN (on July 26) with regard to his inappropriate comments at the Alcohol Beverage Board (on June 27): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_pd7fcvHRlM

If you watch the Original Clip you will see that he clearly was NOT walking away when he made his comments.

Not only is he an ugly worm creature on the outside but he is an UGLY DISGUSTING DESPICABLE THING (not even worth calling him a human) ON THE INSIDE. HE should hope and pray never to bump into me in person bc I will "make comments to myself" about what he is truly is.

Nicole-
Please don't lower yourself to the level of the VP. Up until your 3:24pm post you were doing a great job of standing up for your mom. You're better off leaving the name calling to the rest of us! Continue to hold your head high knowing your family is very much loved and thought highly of by those in town who count. I was going to say those who know your family, but some I have spoken to who don't know anything about your family except what they have read on MOL and heard at the BOT meetings. These are people new to town to boot. But despite this, these people have said they support your mom and family. Thus, these are the people who count! Those, who even though they haven't had the pleasure of meeting your mom supports her!

For those who didn't stay up for the end of the meeting Monday night, the following exchange between Jennings & Trustee Moore-Abrams took place prior to the SID discussion:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ajk9-G0n5Vk

WOW! Why does Jennings feel she needs to lecture and be confrontational with everyone? I think Trustee Moore-Abrams asked very reasonable questions and is to be commended.

Likes the sound of her own voice? (Jennings, that is.)

(If she ever had to read an accurate transcript of one her "answers", she'd be shocked at the dearth of complete sentences and thoughts.)

Pdg-

Do you really think:

>>>(If she ever had to read an accurate transcript of one her "answers", she'd be shocked at the dearth of complete sentences and thoughts.)<<<

Doubtful. As someone else has said, it seems as if she feels the need to 'educate' us. (about everything). Does anyone know what she does for a job? Sure hope it isn't working with the public.

Josh-
No problem. I pretty much gave the one word answer because I wasn't sure; especially since I usually like what you have to say.

PP I hope I get to meet you in person someday.

I like how Calabrese says he's sorry, defending his comments and claiming he was talking to himself as he left the dias. Anybody who watched his girly girl reaction when he realized he was still on-camera knows he was not stepping away from anything, precluding stepping his foot out of his own mouth.

I think we should start a topic cataloguing the South Orange trustees being jackasses so that the lies and disrespect shown by those up for election (resesrving opinion on Mark Rosner at present) in May 2007 (President Calabrese, trustees Rosen, Rosner, Taylor). Since the Tau issue may become obsolete (ha-ha!), we need to keep the focus on the need for new leadership in May. Was there a promise that no unrelated e-mail would be sent to those who signed the online petition? If not, I think a message should go out to them (and to those who provided their e-mail addys when they signed paper versions) asking if we can send them updates and links to the specific threads with the http://youtube.com clips.

We need to show everyone what they're REALLY like.

Oh, and Bill Calabrese is definitely reading this:

The "fight" was actually Terriann asking well reasoned questions and Stacy (the new SM) bullying, with crass, crude, uninformed, nasty, rhetoric that never answered any of the questions. Crasy Stacey (the new SM) is nothing short of a bigoted, loud-mouthed idiot who should be removed from the Board of Trustees for sheer stupidity. IMO

I just rewatched part of this meeting, and was stunned that Ed Matthews still believes he is the personal attorney to the Village President.

When Alan Rosen asked Mr. Matthews to explain what they were voting on (after voting for it, I might add - glad to know there is careful government at work here), Mr. Matthews' response was , he threw up his hands and said "if the Village President wants me to explain it, I'll explain it" as if it were such a huge imposition for him to explain the ordinance.

Am I wrong in assuming Mr. Matthews should be responding to requests by the BOT, and not waiting for the VP to request information? How is this person still associated with our town?

I don't know Mr. Matthews except what I see in the BOT meetings. He may be a great guy, and a wonderful private attorney. I just do not see him working in our best interests. And he repeatedly seems to believe he is the personal attorney for the VP. Is he?

Rastro, It comes across that way..

Perhaps we can suggest as a cost cutting measure for the town, that our VP starts to pay Mr Matthews fees himself.
