I have to renew my registration with Motor Vehicle - can someone tell me where the closest one to South Orange is located?

Thank you!

There is one in Springfield that has been completely empty anytime I have used it.

Geri
As Connie mentioned Springfield is the closest one. Really easy to get to. Take Valley Street (going toward Millburn) to the end. Home Depot will be in front of you. Follow the road around to the right. Make sure you do not get on Route 24 or 78 by mistake. When you get to the light at Morris Ave, which is the first intersection (you'll see a gas station across the street); Make a right. Go through the first light (Mountain Ave) make the fist left (Center Street) after that light. DMV is on your right. There is a parking lot right there. I've been there plenty of times. The people there are very nice and helpful.

You can do it online: Only if you still have your pin and you didn't wait until it expired.

I think all the pics are digital now - so if your pic is digital, when they send you somesthing to renew your license, you can just pay and they'll send you another one with that same digital pic.

So I went there on Wed. - it was easy to get to and I was out of there pretty quickly. One thing though, the people I dealt with weren't the nicest. I got scolded for sitting in the wrong seating area (?) My first time there - how was I suppose to know?

Turns out I had to renew my license, not my registration. Eire - you're right, the pics are digital. Not sure why I needed to be there in person, I basically paid and they asked me if I wanted a new pic, I said no and they basically created a new license with my pic and signature that was already on file.

Glad you got there okay and were out pretty quick. I think someone there was either new or having a bad day because they are usually nice. I thought it was strange they way they have you change seats something like five times! It sounds like you were prepared with dociments for a new license which is good! Now you don't have to go back again.

I thought you said the reason you had to go in person was because your PIN had expired.

argon - yes, i received the form in the mail, we sent a check in thinking it was the registration, it got returned so i tried to go online with a pin # that was on the document, said it was expired, had to go in person (still thinking it was my registration), posted this thread, went there, found out it was my license so went about getting that done.

JTA - I had my original license, bank card, insurance card and that made enough points. If not, I would have gone home and gotten some other ID.

WOW - I didn't realize that I would be put on the defensive on these message boards.
