The 4th annual South Orange Sports Village Newstead 5k is happening Saturday, September 16th. The event includes a 5k run (timed and scored by Compuscore), 2 mile walk and kids fun run. The run and walk start and end at South Mountain Annex, 112 Glenview Rd. Race day registration opens at 7:30am and the race begins at 9am. Proceeds will be donated to South Orange Middle School (SOMS) building fund. It’s a great family event!

Just forwarded the results to our daughter in Washington. Based on her time in a 5k in Virgina a week before I think she is sorry she didn't come home for the weekend. She would have been the second fastest woman, assuming the hills didn't get her.

I am taking straight up bets if she finishes the Marine Corp Marathon at the end of next month.

Hank, not at my age and weight. Even when young and in good shape running was never one of my favorite things.
