I walk by the firehouse every morning. The other morning I chatted with 2 firefighters. I asked when work would be completed, as no noticable progress has been made in months. They indicated that the first builder filed bankruptcy and the second builder was on its way. Why? Poor planning? Poor biddding?
It would be great if one of the local builders was able to pull a Wohlman Rink/ Trump-- anybody come to mind?

Does anyone know what is going on? thx

I was out taking pictures the other day when the contractor and Chief came out to ask me if I was affiliated with somebody (but I don't remember who it was), the contractor seemed pretty anxious to know who I was with and why I was taking pictures.

Maybe Denis Leary can donate funds to get the firehouse complete. He did a great job up in Boston.

We don't pay the BOT and frankly, I don't think they deserve it.

Maybe Extreme Makeover: Home Edition will take pity on our displaced firefighters, who were kicked out of their home more than 4 years ago.

It's atrocious, but at least we have SOPAC. That makes everything okay!

(Notice I did not refer to Tau once in my post above. The Township of South Orange Village Board of Trustees obviously has the town's priorities straight and are acting in the best interests of its constituency.)

To me it looks as if the new cinderblock wall is not plumb straight. I'm hoping that it is an optical illusion caused by loooking at the wall juxtaposed to the adjacent holes and dirt mounds.

This town consistently foresakes basic maintenance in favor of "stretch" projects with questionable finances.

Successful communities don't manage themselves this way. Successful communities don't skimp on basic infrastructure. Police, Fire, DPW. We do, in spades.
