We are applying for a variance with the Town to convert part of our garage into living space. The Town originally denied our permit application because we must provide two garage spaces NOT between the front of the house and the street.

Has anyone submitted a Variance application to the Board of Adjustments? Any successes out there?

My neighbor applied for a fence variance and was denied, as well as treated pretty shabbily. The same body approved several similar requests for no discernable reason. When my friend pointed out that there are many such fences in our neighborhood, their solution was to report them to the Building Department for investigation. Of course, she did no such thing.

This was several years ago (4-5) so maybe they have changed. However, they used to suck!

Just tell them your name is Pulte. The town will then give you anything you want, plus $1.2 million.
