I know there was a thread on this a while back, but Town Hall Deli updated the website recently. The picture looks nice, but no word on how long it will take to complete.... The FAQ still has them opening on November 1st (no year mentioned). http://www.townhalldeli.com |

The final closing of the Midas property took place on 12/30/04. He expects to open in April assuming he has no construction delays.

In the meantime, you can make do with Tabatchnicks or Millburn Deli. We'll get through this rough spot. Go Steelers. |

I know... it's just not the same. I have also discovered Burrini's Sloppy Joe in Randolph and they're pretty good, but I miss Town Hall. By the way, you spelled Jets wrong. |

I heard one of the old empl. is going to open up a deli in S.O. and call it THD 2 the electric boogalliou, and serve nothing but joe's and turkey parts. |

Strings - I'm currently reading "Confessions of a Hero-Worshipper" in which the author's hero was Franco Harris, and the author describes "the immaculate reception." I'm from Pittsburgh originally and they're still my team. |

"THD 2" Sounds more interesting than the "Original" THD. |

Charles, I see you made your first post- Congrats! Welcome and Happy New Year! Mrs. Weiner, I would go with cole slaw. Slaw is more ultimate than celery, but the Cap-wich would win in ANY fight. "Special" Ed sez: N.Y. Jets - 20 Pitt. Steelers - 17 |

The picture on the Website is straight out of the 40's. I can't wait to see what it actually looks like. Mrs. Weiner, I think if the celery had some dip to back it up it could take out the slaw. By the way... I hope the THD slaw goes back to the way it was two years ago. I noticed before they closed that the slaw was getting progressively worse.

It seems hard to imagine that a site that formerly housed an auto related business with lots of oil splashed around doesn't have some environmental issue hidden somewhere. I wish them luck and hope all goes well. |

I think that Soda posted a response from Mr. Toni Wonski himself in the old thread explaining that the enviornmental issues are PART of what is taking so long. I can't seem to find the old thread, but if someone wants to link it for others to see it might be helpful. |
